author query: family and given

Heyho,
I'm looking for a possibility to search for an auhtor's given and family name via the api using boolean operators, and/or/not to narrow down the output.

Dear API Developers, is there any step regarding to this issue? I would like to find an author, but right now it is almost impossible taking the big number of similar family names.

Similar request for Boolean operators came in through support email from a public API user. [Zendesk ticket 113136, for internal reference]

Also, communicated via Jennifer Kemp, Member Wiley and Metadata Plus user Stake of K also requested Boolean searching functionality in REST API.
