Now-playing notification

• A silent notification shows the current song (title, artist and cover) while the floating window is closed. Tap it to open the full-screen lyrics for that song. You can turn it off in Settings > General.

What's new in 0.6.0

Better lyrics sharing and reporting

• Share manually added lyrics with LRCLIB (optional checkbox). Sharing now shows its progress step by step with a notification that takes you back to a status screen showing the song and the lyrics being sent, and it keeps going if you leave the app. You can cancel it or retry after an error.
• New "Report lyrics" option in the full-screen menu: wrong timings, wrong lyrics, or wrong song. Timings and lyrics reports are sent to LRCLIB when the lyrics came from there. In every case the lyrics are discarded on your device and the manual search opens so you can pick another one.

Back up your data

• Settings > Backup: export and import your favorites, chosen/pasted lyrics, recent songs, sync offsets and settings in one file. Android's automatic Google backup is now limited to this data.

Only music, please

• Browsers, YouTube, social networks and similar apps are ignored by default, and so are videos that don't look like songs, so they no longer open the floating window or end up in your recent songs. You can re-enable any app in Settings > Ignored apps. If you used to watch lyrics from YouTube or a browser, tick them again there.

Fixed

• Opening a song whose lyrics are already saved no longer shows "Searching for lyrics…" again.

What's new in 0.5.1

Tidier lyrics screen

• The top bar uses matching icons for reload, romanization and favorite. The romanization button is a circle with the language character: filled when on, outlined when off.
• The top bar is transparent, so the blurred album art reaches the top; the artist shows under the title.

Floating window

• Same icons in the header, with more room for the song title. Long titles now scroll, pausing at the start and at the end.
• Opening Settings from the window collapses it to the bubble so it doesn't cover them.

Faster

• Resizing the floating window with HSK colors was very slow; it's now smooth. Scrolling the full-screen lyrics with HSK colors is smoother too.

Fixed

• When the floating window was resized very small, the resize handle disappeared and the window got stuck. It now has a minimum width that keeps the handle reachable.

Redesigned home screen

• "Now playing" card with the blurred album art, the title with pinyin above each character, a progress bar and the current lyric line.
• Search bar in the header, and Recent / Favorites tabs (swipe to switch).
• A button with the player's icon opens your music app; tapping the card opens the full-screen lyrics.
• When a song has no lyrics, a sheet offers to search for them or paste your own.
• Long titles are split: the main title gets the pinyin, the "(… version)" part goes on a small line below.

Learn as you listen

• Tap a Chinese character to see a word card (pinyin, meaning, HSK level) from CC-CEDICT, with a shortcut to your dictionary app.
• New beginner's guide on first launch (also in the menu).

More lyrics

• lyrics.ovh as a second source for unsynced lyrics, after LRCLIB.
• Manual search only shows lyrics.ovh results that really have lyrics, and each source shows its results as soon as they arrive.

Spotify

• Ads are detected: no lyrics search for "Advertisement" and nothing added to your history.
• Players that can't seek (Spotify Free) no longer freeze the progress; tapping a line shows a notice instead.
• Previous / next buttons are hidden when the player doesn't allow them, in full screen and in the floating window.
• Artist names no longer include Spotify's " • Recommended for you".

Also

• New About screen with links to the website and the project.
• Starting the floating window sends the app to the background so you go back to your music.

Auto-scroll

• With auto-scroll turned off, scrolling by hand no longer hides and restores the line highlight.
• The button now shows a crossed-out icon when auto-scroll is off.
• Tapping a line to jump to it turns auto-scroll back on, and the button reflects it.
• The highlight returns 3 s (was 5 s) after you let go while scrolling.

Full-screen lyrics

• The auto-scroll button moved from the top menu to the floating bar at the bottom, next to the sync offset.
• Redesigned bar: larger buttons, a divider and a slightly translucent background.
• In landscape the bar sits vertically on the side so it doesn't cover the lyrics.

• The current line is enlarged with a smooth animation. The highlight fades while you scroll and returns 5 s after you let go.

Pinyin

• Pinyin is aligned above each character.
• Hide pinyin for HSK words you already know (practice mode).
• New writing systems: zhuyin, jyutping (Cantonese) and hiragana instead of romaji.
• Language is detected per song, so kanji-only lines in Japanese songs are no longer read as Chinese.
