MAC Vendor Lookup - Brand New Feature

  • Device Manufacturer Identification - Identify network devices by MAC address
    • Online API integration (macvendors.com) with 2-second timeout
    • Smart caching (only successful lookups, retries failures when online)
    • Supports all formats: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX, XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX, XXXXXXXXXXXX
    • Interactive tool (Option V) with 3-attempt validation
    • Auto-displays in IP configuration view (Option 3)
    • Example: MAC Address: 00-0C-29-AE-B1-88 (VMware, Inc.)

Advanced IP Conflict Detection - Complete Rewrite

  • 6-Layer Detection System - Catches conflicts other tools miss:
    1. NetBIOS Query - Windows clients that do not respond to ping
    2. Gratuitous ARP - Fresh cache discovery
    3. ICMP Ping - Fast verification
    4. ARP Cache Analysis - PowerShell Get-NetNeighbor
    5. TCP Port Scan - SMB ports (445, 139)
    6. Final ARP Check - Comprehensive verification
  • 2x Faster - Optimized from 3-4s to ~1-2s
  • Compact Progress - Single-line display
  • Fixed Duplicate Check - Removed redundant second scan

Multiple IP Cleanup - Critical Fix

  • Prevents APIPA Accumulation - Auto-cleanup after configuration
    • Post-DHCP: Removes all non-DHCP IPs (including 169.254.*)
    • Post-Static: Removes all IPs except configured one
    • Fixed display showing concatenated IPs
    • Eliminates IP already exists errors

UI/UX Improvements

  • Added pauses: Save Config, Load Config, View Log, Flush DNS
  • Yellow warnings (better visibility)
  • Green success messages
  • Fixed double bracket bug in conflict detection
  • New menu option V for MAC lookup

Installation

Download Network_Configuration.ps1 and run as Administrator:

Upgrade from v2.5

Press U in the script menu to auto-update to v2.6.
