RaidLead Companion 0.5.7

Choose a tag to compare

@Datwunguy Datwunguy released this 03 Oct 16:04
Immutable release. Only release title and notes can be modified.

What's new in 0.5.7

Quieter when loot can't be uploaded. If RaidLead turns an upload down for a reason trying again won't fix — for example, your account is still a Viewer on that team — Companion now says so once instead of every minute. It tries again when new loot comes in, or when you click Sync Now.

Friendlier to antivirus. Finding your WoW folder no longer starts PowerShell in the background (something antivirus tools often flag). It now reads Windows' own list of your PC's drives instead, and still only looks at your PC's own drives, not USB sticks or network drives.

Starts faster offline. Companion never waits on the network while starting up.

Nothing to redo — if you're logged in, you stay logged in.

Only download RaidLead from raidlead.vercel.app (the Loot tab's links) or this releases page. RaidLead never asks for your password.

In PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\RaidLead-Companion-Setup.exe — the Hash should match exactly.

Logging in now uses a code. When you click Log In, Companion shows a six-character code, and the RaidLead page that opens asks you to type it. A login link on its own can't approve anything anymore — so if someone ever sends you a "connect your Companion" link, it can't hook their app up to your account. Only enter a code that's showing in Companion on your own PC.

Log Out signs this PC out on RaidLead too, the same as removing it under My Profile → Connected Devices.

Already logged in? Nothing to redo. This update only changes how new logins work. (Older versions of Companion can't start a new login anymore — they don't show a code — so update before logging in again.)

Under the hood: the settings window is locked down (it can't be sent to another page, and only runs its own code), your login is only ever saved encrypted, Companion and its installer only use Windows' own built-in tools, the WoW search only looks at your PC's own drives, and the file watcher was updated to a newer version.

Only download RaidLead from raidlead.vercel.app (the Loot tab's links) or this releases page. RaidLead never asks for your password.

RaidLead Companion 0.5.5

Immutable release. Only release title and notes can be modified.

What's new in 0.5.5

Choosing your team actually sticks. If your RaidLead account is on more than one team, the team dropdown used to look like a team was chosen when none was saved — so nothing synced. It now starts on Choose a team… with a short note until you pick one. If you're only on one team, it's chosen for you automatically.

Companion tells you what's missing. Instead of a generic "Not configured yet", the log says exactly what to do: log in, choose your team, or pick your WoW folder.

Sync Now always answers. If something's missing, clicking Sync Now says what — it no longer just shows "Syncing..." and nothing else.

If Companion wasn't syncing for you before, open it, choose your team at the top if asked, and click Sync Now.

Only download RaidLead from raidlead.vercel.app (the Loot tab's links) or this releases page. RaidLead never asks for your password.

@Datwunguy Datwunguy released this 02 Oct 16:42
Immutable release. Only release title and notes can be modified.

What's new in 0.5.4

Safer login. When you click Log In, Companion now only ever opens RaidLead's own approval page (https://raidlead.vercel.app) in your browser — never another site, a file, or another program, whatever it's sent.

Updated build tools. The installer is built with the current version of its packaging tools, which clears every known security issue in them.

Only download RaidLead from raidlead.vercel.app (the Loot tab's links) or this releases page. Don't install a RaidLead or Companion file someone sends you in Discord or anywhere else — RaidLead never asks for your password.

No action needed if you're already set up.

RaidLead Companion 0.5.3

Choose a tag to compare

@Datwunguy Datwunguy released this 02 Oct 16:12

What's new in 0.5.3

Companion finds World of Warcraft on its own — on any drive. You no longer have to browse to your AddOns folder. Companion looks up where Battle.net installed WoW (or checks the usual folders on each drive), and Settings shows the folder it found. If you ever need a different one, Change... accepts any folder in your WoW install — the WoW folder itself, _retail_, AddOns, or even the RaidLead folder.

Clear instructions when the addon isn't in the right place. If RaidLead isn't installed, or ended up one folder too deep (a common side effect of Windows' "Extract All"), Settings says exactly which folder to move where.

Two WoW accounts on one PC? If you've played both with RaidLead, Companion now syncs the one you played most recently instead of getting stuck.

What it reads: to find WoW, only Battle.net's entry in Windows' installed-programs list and whether a World of Warcraft folder exists on each drive; after that, only RaidLead's own save files. The folder path never leaves your PC.

No action needed if you're already set up — your saved folder keeps working.

RaidLead Companion 0.5.2

@Datwunguy Datwunguy released this 20 Sep 00:12

What's new in 0.5.2

The installer now properly closes Companion before updating. Previously, updating while Companion was running could get stuck on a "cannot be closed" dialog, requiring you to manually dig the process out of Task Manager. The installer now force-closes it automatically.

No action needed if you're already logged in -- this is an installer-only fix.

RaidLead Companion 0.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Datwunguy Datwunguy released this 19 Sep 02:45

What's new in 0.5.0

No more bridge folder. RaidLead Companion now logs in directly to your RaidLead account — click Log In in Settings, approve it in your browser, and that's it. No folder to pick, no "Sync Now" button to remember. Loot and roster sync happen automatically in the background from then on.

If you're upgrading: log in again after installing. Your WoW folder setting is kept, but the old bridge folder is no longer used, so sync won't resume until you log in.

RaidLead Companion v0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Datwunguy Datwunguy released this 15 Sep 00:40
  • Persistent update banner in Settings: shows a real, conditional banner
    ("An update is available — download it from RaidLead") whenever a newer
    version is detected, alongside the existing OS notification. Never shown
    otherwise.

RaidLead Companion v0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Datwunguy Datwunguy released this 15 Sep 00:13
  • Reworded the "start with Windows" setting so the wait-for-WoW behavior
    is explained right at the checkbox, not just in a hint below it.

RaidLead Companion v0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Datwunguy Datwunguy released this 14 Sep 23:29
  • WoW-running detection: Settings now shows live status ("actively syncing"
    vs "waiting quietly"), and the app no longer pops its window open on
    login-triggered starts -- only when launched manually.
  • Real branding icon (RaidLead crest) for the tray/window and installer.
  • Electron bumped to 44.3.0 (security fixes).
  • Update notifications are notify-only -- never auto-downloads or
    auto-installs anything.
