Extera Monitor v0.2.1

This update adds complete Windows shell and system tray integration.

New in this release

  • Extera Monitor is added to the Windows Start menu under its own application folder.
  • The installer creates a desktop shortcut by default; it can still be disabled on the installer tasks page.
  • Closing the main window keeps monitoring active in the Windows notification area.
  • Left-clicking the tray icon restores and activates the dashboard.
  • The tray menu can open the dashboard, pause or resume telemetry sampling, and exit the application completely.
  • Windows shutdown and explicit application exit bypass close-to-tray behavior correctly.
  • The uninstaller removes both Start menu and desktop shortcuts.

Downloads

  • ExteraMonitor-Setup-v0.2.1-win-x64.exe — self-contained Windows installer.
  • ExteraMonitor-v0.2.1-win-x64-portable.zip — compact self-contained portable build.
  • SHA256SUMS.txt — SHA-256 checksums for both packages.

No separate .NET installation is required. Administrator access is requested for the hardware telemetry driver.

Current system support

  • Windows 11 x64.
  • Windows 10 x64 configurations supported by .NET 10, currently LTSC/Enterprise.
  • Full kernel CPU telemetry on AMD Family 19h processors (Zen 3 / Zen 4).
  • Extended SMU telemetry on AMD Raphael, Family 19h Model 61h.
  • NVIDIA and AMD GPU telemetry through LibreHardwareMonitor, with an NVIDIA nvidia-smi fallback.

Verified on Windows 11 x64 with an AMD Ryzen 5 7500F and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070.

This is an unsigned development release, so Windows can display an unknown-publisher prompt.
