cludex 0.1.4
Features
cludex updateupdates cludex however you installed it: npm, Homebrew or the installer.cludex update --checkjust reports whether a new version is out.- Your company's board now leads with people's names instead of handles, and press ⏎ on a row to see their work email. Everyone else still sees only handles.
Changes
- The news category is now called Tech News.
- Golf has been retired. Scores already on the boards are kept, but it is no longer playable or ranked.
Install
npx cludex # try it once (Node 22+)
npm install -g cludex # keep it (Node 22+)
brew install duriduri/tap/cludex # Homebrew, macOS or Linux
curl -fsSL https://getcludex.com/install.sh | sh # no Node needed, macOS or LinuxAdvanced: the archives below
Each archive holds one standalone cludex binary; check it against SHA256SUMS (shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing). On macOS, use one of the commands above instead: the binaries are not notarized, and macOS blocks them when downloaded through a browser.
cludex 0.1.3
Changes
- Golf has been retired. Scores already on the boards are kept, but it is no longer playable or ranked.
- Verifying your work email is now offered: a Verify email row appears in the menu, and a six-digit code proves the address is yours. It stays optional.
Fixes
- When cludex can't reach the server it now says why: a blocked network, a company HTTPS proxy, no connection, or a sign-in page in the way. Run
cludex --debugfor the full detail. - cludex now works behind a company proxy, and trusts a company's own HTTPS certificate where the system does.
- Security: the Homebrew and curl builds no longer read a
.envfile from the folder you run them in. A project's.envcould previously point cludex at another server.

cludex 0.1.2
Features
- Add your name, if you like. Only people at your company see it, on your company's board, next to your handle. Everyone else still sees just the handle. Set or change it under Your name in the menu.
Fixes
- Played before on another machine? Sign in with the same email. We email you a code, or you can press h and use your handle instead. Before this, an email that already had an account couldn't sign back in.

cludex 0.1.1
Fixes
- The npm page now shows a guide for players: install, trivia, games, leaderboards, sign-in and feedback. Before, it showed notes for developers working on the source.
- Release fix: the v0.1.0 npm publish failed the first time on a tarball path. Nothing was published by that attempt.

cludex 0.1.0
The first public release. cludex is a terminal arcade to play while your coding agent works. It has a daily developer trivia round and leaderboards grouped by work email.
Daily Trivia
- 10 developer questions a day, two in each category: AI & Agents, Code, Systems, Tech History & People, and This Week in Tech.
- Everyone gets the round at the same moment, and it closes at your local midnight. You get one attempt, and you're scored on correct answers and speed, out of 100.
- Options are numbered 1–4. Move with the arrow keys or answer with a number.
- A status-line alert in Claude Code, plus an optional desktop reminder before each drop.
Games
- Runner, Golf and Invaders. Runner, Golf and Invaders scores are replayed and checked by the server before they reach a leaderboard. Pac is included but not ranked yet.
- The game can pause when your coding agent needs you (
cludex install-hooks).
Leaderboards
- Today, This week and All time, for each game and overall. The overall board uses F1 points: 25, 18, 15 and so on down to 1.
- Everyone, your company, or companies ranked by the sum of their top ten players.
- Navigate everything with the arrow keys. Press Enter on a row for details.
Account
- Sign in with a work email and pick a public handle. Your company is set from the email's domain.
