🐝 Commit & Contribute

Welcome to Commit & Contribute — a community-powered blog built for Hacktoberfest 2025! 🎉
This is a zero-CMS, file-based blog where anyone can contribute posts and author profiles using GitHub Pull Requests — no coding experience required.

🌟 About This Project

We’re a friendly community of writers, developers, designers, and open-source enthusiasts who believe that sharing knowledge is the best way to learn.

This blog runs on Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, but you don’t need to know any of that to contribute! All content lives in simple Markdown (.md) and JSON files in the content/ directory.

Perfect for your first open-source contribution!

📝 How to Contribute

You can contribute in two simple ways:

1. Write a Blog Post

  • Create a Markdown file in content/posts/
  • Use the required frontmatter format
  • Topics can include tutorials, reflections, tips, stories, or open-source learnings

2. Add Your Author Profile

  • Add a JSON file in content/authors/
  • Include your name, bio, and social links

👉 Full instructions in CONTRIBUTING.md

🧩 What Counts as a Valid Contribution?

We welcome low-code and non-code contributions, including:

  • ✍️ Writing blog posts or tutorials
  • 📚 Improving documentation
  • 🌍 Translating content
  • 🎨 Suggesting design or UX improvements
  • 🐞 Reporting issues or typos
  • 💬 Sharing the project with others

No experience? No problem! We’ve designed this project so your first PR can be your best PR.

🙌 Thank You!

Every contribution — big or small — helps grow this knowledge base and empowers others to start their open-source journey.

Let’s build, share, and learn — together.

Happy Hacktoberfest! 🎃💻
