ConductLoop 1.2.4 for Windows (beta)

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

ConductLoop for Windows x64. Beta (pre-release).

It passes its automated install, start-up, shutdown and uninstall checks on a GitHub-hosted windows-latest runner, but few real PCs have run it yet. It is not code-signed and it does not update itself.

What's new in 1.2.4: the same app as ConductLoop 1.2.4 for macOS: a dark theme that works, better answers without an AI key (the lines of your notes that answer, with the heading they sit under), note actions in your language, and wording that is true on every system.

What is checked automatically on each build (scripts/windows-smoke.ps1):

  • The NSIS setup installs silently, per user (%LOCALAPPDATA%\ConductLoop).
  • The app starts its local server (here in 7 s) and knows it is on Windows: the in-app browser and code execution are off.
  • A first run opens the welcome page in a ConductLoop window.
  • 20 seconds later the app and its server are still running.
  • Closing the window stops the server (here in 1 s).
  • Uninstalling removes the app and keeps your data (%LOCALAPPDATA%\ConductLoop\data\ops.db).

Known limitations:

  • No auto-update. Download new versions by hand from the releases page and run the installer.
  • Not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway. Antivirus software can also flag the packaged server (a PyInstaller one-file executable that unpacks itself on every start, so the first start is slower and false positives are common).
  • Secrets: there is no Windows Credential Manager backend yet. AI keys go to ConductLoop's encrypted file. Connectors that store tokens need a system keychain, so they stay off on Windows for now.
  • No in-app browser and no code sessions on Windows.

Requirements: Windows 10 or 11, x64 (no Windows on ARM build). Microsoft Edge WebView2 (Windows 11 and current Windows 10 have it; otherwise the installer downloads it).

Verify the download (compare with SHA256SUMS):

Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 .\ConductLoop_1.2.4_x64-setup.exe

Install: run ConductLoop_1.2.4_x64-setup.exe (per user, no administrator prompt). The .msi is an alternative.

ConductLoop 1.2.4 for Linux (beta)

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

ConductLoop for Linux x86_64. Beta (pre-release).

It passes its automated checks on GitHub-hosted Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 runners, but few real desktops have run it yet. It is unsigned and it does not update itself.

What's new in 1.2.4: the same app as ConductLoop 1.2.4 for macOS: a dark theme that works, better answers without an AI key (the lines of your notes that answer, with the heading they sit under), note actions in your language, and wording that is true on every system.

What is checked automatically on each build (scripts/linux-smoke.sh), for the AppImage and the .deb, on Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04:

  • The app starts its local server (here in 2–4 s) with an empty home folder and no keyring, and knows it is on Linux: the in-app browser is off.
  • A first run opens the welcome page in a ConductLoop window.
  • Closing the app stops the server (here in 3–4 s).

Known limitations:

  • No auto-update. Download new versions by hand from the releases page.
  • Not signed. Check the SHA-256 checksums (see below).
  • Secrets: API keys and tokens go to the system Secret Service (GNOME Keyring, KWallet, KeePassXC…). Without one, AI keys go to ConductLoop's encrypted file and connectors that store tokens stay off.
  • Running commands for agent sessions needs bubblewrap (bwrap); where it is missing or blocked (for example by Ubuntu 24.04's user-namespace restrictions), that feature is off and the app says so.
  • No in-app browser on Linux.

Requirements: Linux x86_64 with glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04 or newer), WebKitGTK 4.1 (libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0) and GTK 3. A desktop session (the AppImage uses the system's EGL/GL libraries, as every AppImage does).

Verify the download:

sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS

Install:

  • AppImage: chmod +x ConductLoop_1.2.4_amd64.AppImage && ./ConductLoop_1.2.4_amd64.AppImage
  • Debian/Ubuntu: sudo apt install ./ConductLoop_1.2.4_amd64.deb

Problems? Open an issue at https://github.com/EVMCOD/conductloop/issues and say which distribution and desktop you use.

ConductLoop 1.2.3

Choose a tag to compare

@EVMCOD EVMCOD released this 29 Oct 19:00

ConductLoop for macOS (Apple Silicon). Signed + notarized.

What's in this build:

  • Native Tauri 2 bundle (Python server runs as a local sidecar at localhost:7777)
  • Local-first: your second brain and AI agents never leave your Mac
  • Free edition: every feature unlocked, no subscription

Install:

  1. Download ConductLoop-1.2.3.dmg
  2. Open the DMG, drag ConductLoop to /Applications
  3. Launch — your browser will open to the dashboard automatically
  4. That's it — ConductLoop is free

Requirements:

  • macOS 13 (Ventura) or later (the built-in browser needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later)
  • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4)

ConductLoop 1.2.3 for Windows (experimental)

Choose a tag to compare

ConductLoop for Windows x64. Experimental pre-release.

Heads up: this build has not been tested by hand on a real Windows PC. It only passed the automatic start-up tests on a CI runner. It is unsigned and it does not update itself. Expect rough edges.

What's in this build:

  • ConductLoop 1.2.3 for Windows x64 as an NSIS installer (-setup.exe, recommended, installs per user) and an .msi
  • Native Tauri 2 bundle (Python server runs as a local sidecar at localhost:7777)
  • Local-first: your data lives on your machine (AI models are BYOK and only see what you send them)

What was tested (automatically, on a GitHub-hosted windows-latest runner, not a real PC):

  • The packaged server starts and answers /api/health.
  • The NSIS installer installs silently (/S, per user) and the installed app starts its server on port 7777.
  • Nobody has installed or run these installers on a real Windows machine yet.

Known limitations:

  • No auto-update. The updater is disabled on Windows. To upgrade, download the new installer by hand from the releases page and run it.
  • Not signed. There is no code-signing certificate, so Windows Defender SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC" when you run the installer. Click More info, then Run anyway. Antivirus software can also flag the packaged server (a PyInstaller one-file executable that unpacks itself to a temporary folder on every start, so the first start is slower and false positives are common).
  • Secrets: there is no Windows Credential Manager backend yet. API keys go to ConductLoop's encrypted vault. Connector OAuth tokens are never written to a file and need a system keychain, which Windows doesn't have in ConductLoop yet (see PORTABILITY), so connector sign-in may not work on Windows for now.
  • No built-in browser. The in-app browser is off on Windows, and so are code sessions (no sandbox on Windows).

Requirements:

  • Windows 10 or 11, x64 only (no Windows on ARM build)
  • Microsoft Edge WebView2. Windows 11 and current Windows 10 already have it; if it is missing, the installer downloads it, so you need an internet connection during the install.

Verify the download:

PowerShell (compare each hash with the line in SHA256SUMS):

Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 .\ConductLoop_1.2.3_x64-setup.exe
Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 .\ConductLoop_1.2.3_x64_en-US.msi

Linux / macOS / Git Bash:

sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS

Both files should report OK.

Install:

  • Recommended: run ConductLoop_1.2.3_x64-setup.exe (NSIS, per user: no administrator prompt, installed under your user profile).
  • Alternative: run ConductLoop_1.2.3_x64_en-US.msi.

More information: docs/PORTABILITY.md describes what works, what is untested and what is disabled on Windows.

Problems? Please open an issue at https://github.com/EVMCOD/conductloop/issues and say which Windows version you use.

Provenance: built from commit 8238fcb of EVMCOD/conductloop by the windows-bundles workflow on a GitHub-hosted windows-latest runner (image windows-2025-vs2026, version 20261021.278.1), run 40957545029.

ConductLoop 1.2.3 for Linux (experimental)

Choose a tag to compare

ConductLoop for Linux x86_64. Experimental pre-release.

Heads up: this build has not been tested on a real Linux machine. It is unsigned and it does not update itself. Expect rough edges.

What's in this build:

  • ConductLoop 1.2.3 for Linux x86_64 as an AppImage and a .deb
  • Native Tauri 2 bundle (Python server runs as a local sidecar at localhost:7777)
  • Local-first: your notes and data live in a local SQLite database on your machine (AI models are BYOK and only see what you send them)
  • Free edition: every feature unlocked, no subscription

Known limitations:

  • No auto-update. The updater is disabled on Linux. To upgrade, download the new version of the AppImage or .deb by hand from the releases page.
  • Not signed. There is no signature for these files; check the SHA-256 checksums (see below).
  • Secrets: API keys and tokens go to the system Secret Service (GNOME Keyring, KWallet or any other freedesktop Secret Service provider). If none is available, BYOK provider keys are stored in ConductLoop's encrypted vault instead.
  • No built-in browser. The in-app browser and some macOS-only features are disabled on Linux.

Requirements:

  • Linux x86_64 with glibc 2.35 or newer (built on Ubuntu 22.04, so Ubuntu 22.04 or newer)

ConductLoop 1.1.1 — free-edition UI fixes + signed auto-updater

Choose a tag to compare

@EVMCOD EVMCOD released this 16 Jul 14:53

ConductLoop v1.1.1 — Free-edition UI fixes + signed auto-updater

Released 2026-07-16

This is a hotfix on top of v1.1.0. It does NOT change the desktop app
behavior for end users — it removes the post-pivot UI debris (lifetime
buttons, $299 / $12 pricing copy, dead plan IDs in /api/billing/plans)
that v1.1.0 left behind because the free-edition pivot was applied to
the server but not fully propagated to the HTML pages.

What's fixed

  • /billing page: now renders a single "Free Edition — $0" card with
feature list and "Open ConductLoop" CTA. The defunct Lifetime card and
its broken click handler (which POSTed to a dead endpoint expecting a
Stripe URL) are gone. Founders who paid in the pre-pivot beta still
see their gold "Founding Member" badge.
  • /tour.html onboarding: copy updated from "Pick lifetime ($299
one-time) or subscribe to Pro ($12/mo)" to "ConductLoop is 100% free
    — every feature unlocked".
  • /api/billing/plans: returns only the free plan + free_edition: true + deprecated_plans: ["lifetime"] flag for any cached client
that still looks for a paid plan.
  • Tauri auto-updater: re-signed with a fresh ed25519 keypair. The
new public key is bundled in the v1.1.1 .app (tauri.conf.json). The
old key was effectively orphaned (password not recorded anywhere).
Users on v1.0.x who run v1.1.1 will see no prompt to update (that's
by design — the updater needs the matching pubkey in the binary).
Users on v1.1.1 will be auto-prompted for future releases.
  • License worker /checkout: returns {free_edition: true} instead
of creating a Stripe session (matches the marketing site copy).

What stays the same

  • Same DMG SHA-256 lineage as v1.1.0 (rebuilt from the same source with
    the same frozen Python deps).
  • All endpoints work the same as v1.1.0.
  • 19-test pytest suite still passes end-to-end against the live license
    worker.

Install

Download ConductLoop-1.1.1.dmg from the assets below, drag to
Applications, run. The DMG is signed and notarization pending (Gatekeeper
will warn; right-click → Open to bypass).

For auto-update from v1.1.1 onward: the update-macos-aarch64.json in
this release is real and signed (not the previous placeholder).

SHA-256

  • ConductLoop-1.1.1.dmg: see CHECKSUMS.txt
  • ConductLoop.app.tar.gz: see CHECKSUMS.txt

Upgrade notes

  • From v1.0.x → v1.1.1: manual reinstall (download DMG, replace).
The v1.0.x binary has the wrong updater pubkey and won't auto-update
    past v1.1.0's placeholder manifest.
  • From v1.1.0 → v1.1.1: manual reinstall. The v1.1.0 binary also
    has the wrong pubkey.
  • From v1.1.1 → future: auto-update works (matching pubkey).

Known limitations carried over

  • Tauri bundle still not notarized (no Apple Developer ID cert yet).
  • License worker Stripe plumbing is dormant but intact in code; will
be re-pointed at per-feature checkouts when cloud-only features ship.
