DockerTags
docker pull will pull the latest image by default. The Docker latest tag is based on the GitHub master source, which is the development version, and quite possibly unstable. Other Docker versions (or tags) can be selected on the Docker Tags page.
The most stable Docker version is the 3-number tag (1.x.x, 2.x.x) which ends in a 0 (1.x.0, 2.x.0). This is intended to be a stable base tag. Otherwise it is a patch to the base tag, and is designed to apply fixes or experimental features. When the fixes / features are stable, the middle number is increased by 1 and the last number is reset to 0, indicating a stable version and a new base tag.
Other GitHub source tags, if available, can be selected in the Branch selection box.
The following table shows the relationship between the current Docker Tag names and debian-base-gui tags:
| Tags | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| kaptain-debian | debian-base-gui | ||
| latest | 2.0.1 | ||
| 2.0.3 | 2.0.1 | ||
| 2.0.1 | 2.0.0 | ||
| 2.0.0 | 2.0.0 | ||
| 9.3 | 9.3 | ||
| 1.0.1 | 1.0.1 | ||
| 1.0.0 | 1.0.1 | ||
| 9.2 | 9.2 | ||
NOTES:
- The GitHub Master branch is the source for the Docker latest tag.
- The highest numbered Docker tag (e.g. - 2.0.0) is the same as the Docker latest tag.
- The 9.2 tag is the same as 1.0.0,
- The 9.3 tag is the same as the 2.0.0 tag.
