This release updates the default segmentation models and improves SDK startup across WebGPU and self-hosted WASM configurations.
Updated
- Quality and balanced segmentation models. The default landscape and portrait models for the
qualityandbalancedpresets have been updated to versions 1.6.0 and 5.6.0 respectively. - ONNX Runtime Web build. The bundled ONNX Runtime package has been refreshed.
Fixed
- WebGPU compatibility fallback. When a browser exposes WebGPU but cannot provide the adapter information required by ONNX Runtime, the SDK now falls back to CPU WASM instead of failing during session creation. The
CPU_FALLBACKnotice includes the compatibility reason and failure stage. - WebGPU device parameters. Adapter information is normalized on the GPU device before it is passed to ONNX Runtime, fixing session initialization on affected browser and runtime combinations.
- WASM runtime resolution with both a script URL and
sdk_url. The SDK checks the script directory first and falls back tosdk_urlwhen the runtime is not served there. ExplicitwasmPathsconfiguration still takes precedence and prevents fallback to a third-party origin. - Duplicate WASM runtime lookups. Runtime path resolution is cached for the active configuration, avoiding repeated probes and duplicate warnings during initialization.
Added
WASM_RUNTIME_LOCATION_FALLBACK(1068). Reported when the runtime is not available at the first candidate location and the SDK uses the next configured location.datacontains{ resolved, skipped }.
Upgrading
No configuration changes are required when upgrading from 3.12.1.
If you self-host SDK assets, continue to place ort-wasm-simd-threaded.asyncify.wasm next to the SDK bundle or configure its exact location explicitly:
sdk.config({
wasmPaths: {
wasm: 'https://your-domain.com/assets/ort-wasm-simd-threaded.asyncify.wasm'
}
});
