Optional: halluscribe-mcp — give external agents memory of your archive

This release also ships the standalone halluscribe-mcp binary (the per-OS asset above). It is not needed to use the HalluScribe app — the app and its built-in chat are fully self-contained. Install it only if you want an external agent (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) to search your archive over MCP.

  1. Download the asset for your OS — halluscribe-mcp-windows-x64.exe, halluscribe-mcp-macos-arm64, or halluscribe-mcp-linux-x64. On macOS/Linux, chmod +x it.
  2. Register it with your agent. Claude Code (user scope, available everywhere):
    claude mcp add --scope user halluscribe -- /path/to/halluscribe-mcp
    Codex: add a [mcp_servers.halluscribe] entry with command = "/path/to/halluscribe-mcp".
  3. It reads ~/.halluscribe by default; set HALLUSCRIBE_DIR to point at a different archive.

Full details are in the README under halluscribe-mcp. Note: this binary does not self-update — after each release, replace your copy with this one, or agents keep talking to the old tool schema.
