Alloy and AlloyMC meet: sign in, link Minecraft, CurseForge without a key. Plus a crash
doctor, save points, modpack export and imports from other launchers. Installs as a
one-click update from 0.2.x.

  • Sign in to AlloyMC. The account menu and Settings have an optional AlloyMC sign-in.
It opens your own browser, so Google and saved passwords work, and comes back to Alloy
by itself. Alloy shows your profile and keeps working offline with what it last saw.
  • Link your Minecraft accounts. Any Microsoft account in Alloy links to your AlloyMC
profile in one click: Alloy proves you own it through Mojang's session server, the same
check a multiplayer server does. Unlink them in Settings.
  • The crash doctor. When the game crashes, Alloy reads the crash report, the log and
any JVM error file and says what happened in plain words: which mod it points at and
how sure it is (the loader naming it, a failed mixin, its code at the top of the crash),
or that memory ran out, the wrong Java was used or the graphics driver crashed. One
click turns the mod off, gives the game more memory or switches Java. An instance's
page shows its last crash until it's dealt with.
  • Find the mod by testing. When nothing points at one mod, Alloy starts the game with
halves of the mods turned off (each mod brings what it requires) and closes it at the
title screen, until one mod is left: about log2(mods) + 1 starts. Crashes that take two
mods together are found too. Your mods are put back afterwards, even if Alloy is closed
    halfway.
  • Save points. A copy of an instance's mods, configs, resource packs, shaders and
settings, to go back to with one click. Alloy makes one before updating mods and before
a crash doctor fix, and before going back, so that can be undone too. Worlds aren't
included. Files are stored once across all save points, so they take little space.
  • Export as a modpack. Any instance becomes a Modrinth .mrpack or a CurseForge
.zip. Mods the platform knows are listed by reference (Modrinth by SHA-1, CurseForge
by fingerprint), so packs stay small; anything else is bundled, and Alloy names those
files so you can check their licences before sharing.
  • Import from other launchers. Alloy finds instances of Prism Launcher, MultiMC, the
CurseForge App and the Modrinth App where they live (or in a folder you choose), reads
their version, loader and memory setting, and copies them over with their worlds. The
    originals stay as they are.
  • CurseForge for everyone. Search, installs, updates and CurseForge modpacks work in
every build without a key of your own. Alloy asks the AlloyMC server, which holds the key
and caches answers for everyone. A key in Settings still makes Alloy call CurseForge
    directly.

Install (Windows)

Download the -setup.exe and run it. It installs for your user, no admin prompt. The installer
isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn: More info → Run anyway.

Install (Linux)

Download the .AppImage, make it executable (chmod +x) and run it. Arch users can also build
the package from packaging/arch.
