This release represents the major translation of the EFI Tools from the legacy source code (Release v1.0) to a full set of Nextflow pipelines. Behind the workflows, Perl and Python code has been refactored to modernize and improve performance of the tool set.

This covers about two years of software development that was a collaborative effort lead by @nilsoberg with help from @rbdavid and @1ndy. Scientific guidance was provided by @remizallot and @j-gerlt. This work was supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of General Medical Sciences [grant number R24GM141196] to John A. Gerlt.
