- Android: the start screen now looks like the main menu, with a Help page and a progress bar while the disc is copied.
- Desktop: the first-start disc picker is now your system's own file dialog (it also works on Windows and macOS now).
- The highlighted button on the main menu now gently pulses in and out.
- On the disc start screen, Escape, Backspace and K now go back from Help instead of opening the file picker.
- iPhone and iPad: if you installed OpenTennis with AltStore, SideStore or TrollStore, Update now opens that app to install the new version; otherwise it opens the release page as before.
- Custom characters that sit down on a seat after a game or in an emote line up with their seat again, instead of sitting turned off it.
- Online lobbies: your player's name tag now shows your online name until you pick a name (a default "Player" keeps 1P–4P).
- Online lobbies: while someone is still downloading, Start says Downloading… and the countdown only begins once everyone has finished; the wait (and the countdown) can be cancelled.
- iPhone and iPad: Settings → Online & Mods → Updates now shows what installed the game and how it was signed, to help us support more installers. It stays on your device.
- Computer players' second serves now use their usual strong toss as often as in the original, instead of always a soft one.
- Computer players no longer swing early on their serves: a well-timed computer serve now hits the sweet spot as often as in the original, so their topspin and slice serves come out more often.
- iPhone: with rotation lock on, the game now stays in landscape after you put the phone down and pick it up again, and starts in landscape next time too, instead of sometimes turning to portrait.

- Menu Size above 100% now makes every menu bigger, not just some: the title screen, main menu, Online, the lobby list, the code keyboard, Extras and all the Settings pages. On a smaller or narrower window, lists scroll and side panels make room, and long dropdowns show a page at a time instead of squeezing their text.
- On the Mods page, a character's picture now sits beside its stats card, like on character select, instead of inside the name banner.
- Players move smoothly on high-refresh screens: the blend between moves, the racket arm after a serve and the free hand going onto the racket no longer step or snap, and the body no longer stops for a moment as the serve hands over to the next move.
- Custom characters move more naturally: they no longer dip after a serve's follow-through, their free hand is no longer dragged toward the racket during clapping and other celebrations, and long hair no longer flies up at the start or end of an emote or when cutting from one move to the next.
- On some added courts, the ground's painted patches and shadows no longer show through a racket's strings when the player stands at the far end.
- The sweat drop, "..." and swirl over a player who lost the point now clear once the celebration ends, instead of hanging on through the change of ends.
