v0.19.2 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack 0.19.2 — Welcome and clearer guidance
- Minimal welcome screen with an optional preferred-crosshair selector and preview.
- More visible default cyan crosshair with a dark outline and open centre. Saved choices and existing measurement snapshots are retained.
- Large, centred circle-test instructions with fade-in, click-to-start and fade-out before countdown and recording.
- Clearly explains 30 clockwise and 30 counterclockwise turns, natural movement and the pause between directions.
- 32–34 pixel progress bars with completed counts and percentages.
- Red flick bullseyes; precision targets remain green.
- Updated documentation and screenshots.
Update through History / updates, or extract the entire Windows ZIP and run TrueTrack/TrueTrack.exe. Measurements, profile data, routines and saved crosshair preferences are retained. No driver is installed and no profile is activated by the update.
Validation: 443 automated checks, visual inspection of the welcome/circle/target screens and a packaged-update preservation check. Experimental, unsigned Windows x64 release. Full questionnaire onboarding, research data collection and global crosshair overlays are not implemented.
v0.19.1 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack 0.19.1 — Crosshairs and clearer calibration
- Customize your in-app crosshair: six shapes, six colors, size, centre gap and thickness, with a live preview.
- New calibration baselines use a subtle moving dot field. Free practice retains the 3D room.
- Wider flick scoring area, smaller 100-point bullseye, and 99–1 points outside it.
- Thicker progress bars and larger calibration instructions with fade transitions before timed measurement.
- Separate post-exercise precision timing summary flags successful hits above twice the median as possible distractions. Raw measurements and all profile acceptance checks retain every attempt.
- Updated algorithm documentation and screenshots.
Start a new baseline for the new targets and background. Existing rounds retain their geometry, background and crosshair so comparisons remain consistent. Crosshair preferences and measurements remain in the local data folder during updates.
Extract the full Windows ZIP and run TrueTrack/TrueTrack.exe, or use History / updates. No driver is installed and no profile is activated by updating.
Validation: 443 automated checks passed, visual inspection of the new views, and packaged-update preservation verification. Experimental and unsigned. Global crosshair overlay and real-time correction of unwanted curves are not implemented; actual polling rate, presented FPS and monitor refresh rate are not yet measured.
v0.19.0 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack 0.19.0 — Practice, replay and repeated profile checks
- New Practice page: free flick, precision, smooth tracking and target switching in the 3D room, with 30/60/120-second sessions.
- Save a routine, pause between exercises, and view local history for comparable setups.
- Replay recorded calibration or practice movements and clicks, with a timeline and playback speeds.
- Optional three-check confirmation of the same frozen proposal, with descriptive uncertainty intervals for precision time and corrective travel.
- Clearer FOV/cm/360 guidance, current algorithm documentation and research notes.
Practice does not fit or activate profiles. Precision misses retain elapsed time; flick advances on the first click. History separates incompatible setups and interrupted/insufficiently recorded sessions. The optional Interception bridge must be stopped for free practice.
Use History / updates to update, or extract the complete ZIP and run TrueTrack.exe. Measurements, profiles, practice history and saved routines remain separate from program files. No input driver is installed or profile activated by this update.
Validation: 436 automated checks passed; practice and replay views inspected; a packaged-update check preserved measurement, practice and routine fixtures and verified the installed executable hash. This does not establish real-game performance benefits or universal driver compatibility.
Experimental, unsigned Windows x64 application. Planned real-time correction of unwanted movement curves is not implemented. Raw Accel and Interception remain optional integrations with separate terms and compatibility considerations.
v0.18.2 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack 0.18.2 — Optional 3D arena
- Original dark training room with mouse-driven camera rotation and central crosshair.
- Clear task header, progress bar and flick/precision instructions.
- Enable 3D arena (optional) before a new baseline; classic view remains available.
- The same environment is retained for A/B, subsequent rounds and confirmation. Arena and classic histories are kept separate.
- Fixed overlapping scoring text in the classic view.
Target sizes, scoring, input transformations and recommendation thresholds are unchanged. Measurements and profiles are preserved by the updater. Extract the full ZIP and run TrueTrack.exe, or use History / updates in an existing installation.
Validation: 420 automated checks, visual inspection at normal/minimum window sizes, and a packaged-update preservation check. Tests do not install drivers or activate global profiles. The room is a stationary calibration environment, not a full movement-based FPS trainer.
Experimental, unsigned Windows app. Driver integrations remain optional and subject to separate terms; game/anti-cheat compatibility is not guaranteed.
v0.18.1 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack 0.18.1
A clearer guided calibration interface:
- Setup → Baseline → Proposal → Compare → Confirm, with the current step highlighted.
- The recommended next action appears above the results.
- Proposed settings are separated from measured results; no after-result is shown before comparison data exists.
- Detailed graphs and alternative actions are grouped in expandable sections.
- History and profile restoration remain accessible from the main results view.
Calibration calculations and validation thresholds are unchanged. Measurements and profiles are preserved. Includes the data-preserving GitHub updater introduced in 0.18.0.
Validation: 413 automated checks and visual review of setup/results at the minimum supported window size. No driver installation or global profile activation performed during testing.
Experimental, unsigned Windows app. Optional driver integrations have separate terms; game/anti-cheat compatibility is not guaranteed.
v0.18.0 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack 0.18.0
- Baseline versus new-profile bars show median time to a precision hit on the same scale, including misses and timeouts. Precision completion and flick bullseye rates show percentage-point changes.
- Eight-direction A/B map shows timing, corrective travel, hits and available first-stroke reach. Small directional samples are descriptive, not proof of improvement.
- Profile history provides saved results, setting comparisons and explicit restoration of measured/first-baseline profiles, plus driver-backup recovery and neutral reset.
- Personal measurements, profiles and language settings now live in LocalAppData/TrueTrack/profiles. Existing adjacent files are copied without overwriting conflicts or removing originals.
- Manual GitHub update checks and opt-in startup checks support experimental releases. Accepted updates verify the release checksum, preserve personal data and back up replaced program files. Older versions require one manual upgrade to gain this feature.
- Current algorithm documentation updated. Decision thresholds are unchanged.
Validation: 413 automated checks; visual inspection at normal and minimum window sizes; update installation preserves a measurement sentinel and matches the built executable; locked-file and unsafe-archive rejection checks. No driver installation or global profile activation was performed during testing. Live upgrading from 0.18.0 to a future release cannot be tested until a newer release exists.
Experimental, unsigned Windows application. Optional global driver integrations have separate terms and game/anti-cheat compatibility is not guaranteed.
v0.17.0 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack v0.17.0
- Simpler result: previous profile versus new proposal, one verdict, a short explanation and four gauges. Full reasoning and the fixed first baseline remain expandable.
- New tests accept a minimum practical precision-time gain of 0.5%, with consistency and hit/control safeguards retained. A switching recommendation requires a passing frozen confirmation after a passing first test. Manual trial activation is still possible.
- Larger flick targets: 0.8-degree bullseye, rings out to five radii, gradual 1–100 points inside the scoring area, zero for misses/timeouts.
- Circle instructions explicitly state that every attempt counts and irregular/unclosed circles contribute to the median. Shape reliability only controls whether an adjustment can be proposed.
- Updated current algorithm documentation. Old sessions retain their old targets, scoring and evaluation; start a new calibration or next phase for this protocol.
407 automated checks passed, including small gains, scoring boundaries and confirmation gating. No driver settings were activated by tests. Experimental unsigned Windows x64 application. Extract the entire ZIP and run TrueTrack.exe; preserve your profiles folder when updating.
v0.16.0 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack v0.16.0 — understandable results and fixed baseline
Run TrueTrack.exe after extracting the complete ZIP. Preserve your existing profiles folder when updating.
- Results explain what improved, what regressed and which safeguards blocked the recommendation, followed by gauges.
- A fixed snapshot of the first baseline is retained through later rounds. A/B and first-baseline progress are separate; incompatible target protocols are clearly marked.
- New rounds use balanced near/far targets and fixed directions in randomized order. Equal target counts have equal total planned distance; A/B always has identical paired geometry. Adaptive rounds still compare per-target statistics, not raw totals with unequal counts.
- New rounds can support a profile through either faster precision hits or clearly lower corrective travel, with hit/time/flick safeguards. The two precision routes split their statistical threshold; a green gauge is not proof.
- Optional circle verification records 30 clockwise and 30 counterclockwise attempts with the already active Raw Accel proposal, then overlays its measured median against the first baseline. No refitting or automatic activation.
- Center-the-mouse instructions before tests. English is the first-launch default; existing language preferences remain.
- Current-only ALGORITHM.md documents the exact protocol, thresholds, baseline storage and measured circle verification.
Old measurements and frozen confirmations keep their original assessment and target plan. Start a new calibration or next phase to use the new protocol. No private measurements are included. Experimental unsigned Windows x64 build; optional global driver/game compatibility remains game-dependent.
Validation: 400 automated checks passed; no driver installed or settings activated by these checks.
v0.15.0 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack v0.15.0 — precision time and clearer comparisons
Extract the complete ZIP and run TrueTrack.exe. The program no longer uses the legacy VectorFit.exe filename. When updating an existing folder, keep its profiles folder; measurements are not included in this download.
- Larger flick target: original bullseye scores 10, four surrounding rings score 8/6/4/2, outside scores zero. The small bullseye remains the actual hit boundary.
- Four gauges on Results and Statistics compare precision time, corrective travel, flick time and flick points. Before/after values and better/worse directions accompany color. Missing scores in old measurements remain unavailable.
- New rounds prioritize total time to a precision hit, including miss clicks and correction time. Failed targets cost the full 3000 ms. Approval also requires maintained hits and flick safeguards; a green gauge alone is not proof.
- Saved historical assessments and frozen confirmations keep their original protocol. Start a new calibration or next phase for the new ring/precision protocol.
- Windows/global-use page explicitly verifies whether the selected proposal matches the active Raw Accel driver settings. Activation already writes settings and verifies readback; no automatic activation is added.
- English/Norwegian UI, current algorithm documentation and legacy measurement compatibility retained.
389 automated checks passed; no driver was installed or settings activated by those tests. This is an experimental, unsigned Windows x64 application. Local calibration needs no driver. Optional Raw Accel installation is bundled; global input/game and anti-cheat compatibility is not universally guaranteed. TrueTrack code is MIT licensed; third-party components have separate terms.
v0.14.1 - Experimental Windows release
TrueTrack v0.14.1
Download TrueTrack-Windows.zip, extract the complete ZIP and run VectorFit.exe inside the TrueTrack folder. Windows x64 and .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later are required. The executable retains its legacy filename and is unsigned.
Easier global setup
The official Raw Accel 1.7.1 installer is included. You do not need a separate download or manual configuration in Raw Accel's settings application.
- Open Use in Windows and games → Set up global use.
- Choose Install driver · included and approve the Windows administrator prompt. Restart Windows if required, then reopen TrueTrack.
- Open your saved measurement and choose Activate with Raw Accel.
When the driver is missing, the main activation button now opens setup instead of being disabled. Setup checks driver status and avoids reinstalling an already registered driver. Back to profile returns to activation. Reset to neutral switches off adjustments; it does not uninstall the driver.
Local calibration needs no driver installation. Global use still requires the driver, administrator approval, and possibly a restart. No driver or profile is activated automatically. Interception remains a separate optional integration with its own terms and anti-cheat considerations. Compatibility with every game is not guaranteed.
Branding and validation
The original TrueTrack arrow/double-T logo is restored in the application, Windows icon and GitHub README. The calibration algorithm is unchanged.
381 automated checks passed. The bundled driver archive's SHA-256 was verified and the updated interface was rendered and inspected. These checks do not install a driver or establish anti-cheat compatibility or improved aim. No private measurements are included.
Project code is MIT-licensed; third-party components retain their licenses. Checksums accompany this experimental prerelease.
