This release contains a lot of refactoring and improvements to enable offline mode. Individual songs or entire albums, playlists and artists can now be downloaded. There is a new offline mode which will restrict the library to downloaded songs. Even when online, downloaded versions of songs will be preferred, which may be of interest for people looking to save some bandwidth.
As part of this refactor, playlists should now load much faster.
The release includes a few other improvements, including an update to the GNOME 51 runtime for Flatpak users. Not that this release still contains a workaround for https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libsoup/-/work_items/557 which will be removed one the runtime is updated to libsoup3 3.8.1. If anyone experiences issues with HTTP/2, please open an issue.
Other updates:
- Improved Keybindings
- Improved compatibility with Postmarket OS
