Canopy 0.4.11

Canopy 0.4.11 turns team chat into a place to work: links and shared work open natively in Canopy, you can ask for and give PR reviews from a message, and messages get threads, edits, read receipts and catch-up for teammates who were offline.

Links and shared work open in Canopy

Links to pull requests, issues and commits in team chat now open in Canopy's own PR, issue and commit views, even when the repository is open in another project. They show a preview card with the title, state, CI and review status. You can also send a pull request, selected lines, a file's diff, terminal output or an agent's report from Canopy into a conversation as a card, and teammates open it in their own checkout. Canopy warns you before you share terminal output or a report that looks like it contains a token or key. Teammates on an older Canopy see a plain link instead.

Review requests

Ask a teammate to review a pull request from Canopy. They can approve or request changes right from the chat card, through the GitHub CLI on their own computer, and Canopy warns them if new commits landed since you asked. The outcome is posted back in the thread, and you see each reviewer's answer on your card.

Threads, edits and deletes

Reply in a thread: replies open beside the conversation, and only threads you started or replied in count toward your unread messages. You can edit or delete your own messages. Teammates still on an older Canopy keep the original, and Canopy tells you who before you delete.

Mentions and muting

@mention a teammate or @channel. Mentions of you are highlighted and show a red @ in the Teams list. You can mute any conversation from its header or by right-clicking it in the Teams list. A muted conversation still notifies you when you're mentioned personally, asked for a review, or replied to. Turn that off in Settings → Agents → Always notify me when I'm mentioned.

Read receipts and reliable delivery

Direct messages show when they've been read, and channel messages show "Seen by" and how many. Turn this off in Settings → Agents → Send and show read receipts; when it's off, you neither send nor see them. A message that couldn't be delivered now retries on its own, shows when it will try next, and offers Retry now. If a teammate was offline, messages are delivered when they come back, for up to 7 days, with a single summary notification.

Safer links

Shared files and file links open only if they stay inside the repository, even after following symbolic links.

Most of this works between teammates who are both on 0.4.11. Teammates on an older Canopy still get the text of every message.
