Label on large text field is vertically centered

Current Behavior

When adding a label to a text field that's multi-line, the label is vertically centered, which breaks the affordance of the standard input field pattern and makes it confusing to users because it doesn't look like an input field anymore.

Expected Behavior

Label should be top aligned.

Hi, This is as per current design. To make it work as you expecting, it requires an additional input decoration property. See below. alignLabelWithHint: true. You can raise this as feature enhancement / request.
