Build fails - Error with WakelockPlusPlugin and VideoPlayer

Current Behavior

Since the last update (v5.4.3+) projects won't build in local run. I get the following:

Hi! I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue.
This might be related to a version incompatibility between your dependency and the version of Flutter used by FlutterFlow (3.27.3).

Does this work correctly when running locally on the FlutterFlow desktop app or web?
Are you using a real device for testing? If not, please try running it on a physical device, as there might be differences in behavior between the emulator and a real device.

It would also help if you could let me know where you're adding this dependency (in which action or widget).

Yes, I’m currently facing the exact same issue you mentioned. I wanted to share more context to help debug it:
• I’m testing the app on a real Android device (not an emulator).
• The issue seems related to the usage of the video player screen in my app, which requires the wakelock_plus plugin to prevent the screen from turning off during playback.
• Everything was working fine until about 4 days ago.
• When I run the project locally, I was able to fix the issue by doing a flutter clean and flutter pub get, and the app builds successfully.
• However, in FlutterFlow, I’m unable to run the same clean process, and the build fails with this error:

I suspect the issue might be related to version incompatibility between wakelock_plus and the Flutter SDK version (3.27.3) used by FlutterFlow, as mentioned in your message.

Could you please confirm if there’s a known issue or conflict with this plugin, and if there’s a workaround or patch expected soon?

Just to clarify, this isn’t a custom integration. I’m not using any custom code or external plugins. The issue occurs when I simply add a Video Player widget in a screen and provide a direct URL to a video file.

The widget is native to FlutterFlow, and everything else is done through the visual builder. I believe the problem may be related to the underlying video_player or wakelock_plus plugin versions, which have caused build issues for other users as well.

It works perfectly on my local machine (after a flutter clean), but fails in FlutterFlow’s build system with errors pointing to WakelockPlusPlugin.

Could you please confirm if there’s a known compatibility issue or if the FlutterFlow build environment is using plugin versions that conflict?

Thank you for providing more information about this issue. I’ve reviewed your project and noticed that you've changed the version of the video player. The application is showing a warning as a result. Since this is not a custom integration, I would recommend removing this modification and using the default version set by FlutterFlow, which is version 2.9.2.
