Device Monitor 1.2.31
Paired desktop apps now reconnect when the hub’s HTTPS public key rotates. The desktop verifies the certificate chain and hostname, then checks a fresh proof from the original hub before it sends credentials or reports. Device IDs, history, and existing 1.2.30 enrollments carry forward.
Upgrade both the hub and the desktop app. A desktop already offline after rotation can install this update and reconnect with its saved enrollment. Direct HTTPS and Tailscale Serve identify their own certificates. Other reverse proxies can supply their public certificate chain through DM_TLS_PROXY_CERT.
Includes the Windows installer, the universal macOS disk image, and their Ed25519-signed update manifests.
Device Monitor 1.2.30
Security update
Device Monitor 1.2.30 addresses 24 findings across the hub, desktop app, agents, installers, and updater. It verifies Windows installers again at launch, separates reporting and dashboard credentials, pins the desktop connection to the enrolled TLS identity, and bounds network requests, alert delivery, live streams, and history storage.
Upgrading an existing fleet
- Upgrade the hub from a trusted installer. Set up a trusted HTTPS address using Tailscale Serve or the direct TLS or reverse proxy options in the README. The local dashboard remains available on loopback.
- On the hub, open +, select Reconnect for an existing device, and issue a new desktop invitation or standalone agent command. Selecting its existing entry retains the device’s history. The former shared key, six-digit codes, and old browser cookies are retired.
- Upgrade and re-enroll each desktop. Stop old standalone agents until you can rerun the appropriate installer command. Give browser users a fresh single-use dashboard link.
The Windows installer and universal macOS disk image have Ed25519-signed Device Monitor update manifests. The Windows executable has no Authenticode signature and the macOS app uses ad-hoc signing. If populating a separate hub manually, use the filenames recorded in the update manifests.

Device Monitor 1.2.26
- The window reopens at its last size, position and maximized state (falls back to the main screen if that monitor is gone).
- Dashboard preferences (°C/°F, chart ranges, Advanced settings open) are kept by the app, so they survive restarts and changes of hub address.
- Settings and hub files (devices, config, alerts) are written crash-safely with a backup copy.
Device Monitor 1.2.25

Click the 'X of Y devices online' summary to see a dropdown of offline devices.
Device Monitor 1.2.21
