Issue Description

Despite hwinfo --monitor | grep -E 'Model|Resolution' returning: ¹

Resolution: 2560x1600@60Hz

...when I reboot to the firmware GUI, I see what appears to be 1 080 × 720 px, at best.

On the new Framework Desktop we have improved the text and resolution scaling in the upcoming BIOS version 3.03.
We inherit the same behavior that the BIOS vendor provides for all their customers, but we have worked with them to improve it.
We are trying to bring this to the laptop products in the future as well.

We don't have a timeline for Framework 16 AMD Ryzen 7040 yet.

When a computer changes resolution, it quite often create a flicker / screen blanks during the transition between resolution..
It would be better if the BIOS used the same resolution as the operating system will use.
The BIOS then tells the OS boot process what the resolution is, and the OS then uses that for the early boot menus etc, and then when the OS loads, it does not need to change resolution to eventually reach the OS GUI environment.
This makes the whole boot process far more professional and smooth.

@jcdutton, I believe that that's a separate problem. ¹ This would be better discussed at FW's forum, at the thread which the cited thread cites, and, then, maybe, a new issue here. I doubt it relates to this, which is about resolution.
