When you go outside and look for a lightbox, you'll find there's more of those than massage parlors in our political residence (mine would be The Hague, The Netherlands -- Home sweet home).

We've tried a couple, played with a few more, but we're looking for something that's got continued support a.k.a. active development and something that is beautiful, both in a usability and development / maintenance sense. So we went and picked the Milkbox. Of course, I just couldn't leave it alone, so there's our own Sports' Illustrated Edition and there's [[the official one|http://reghellin.com/milkbox/]].

The difference?

Heck, not much. Maybe a couple of lines. That's all. Really. We're not looking for a lightbox that's leaking featuritis from its nose, we want something that's reliable. And so far, the Milkbox has been enjoyably solid work.

Now what if I don't like your choice of lighbox?

No sweat. We're not Siamese Twinning our code to any lightbox. We check for it in two places in our code and call / use it when it's there. If you don't like it, fine. Just delete it from your web pages and we won't mind at all.

If you want to replace it with your own personal favorite, you'll need to check the two spots in the code where we invoke the milkbox (when it's available) and the one place where we attempt to load it: go to the Source/FileManager.js source file and grep for milkbox and edit the couple of places you spot its use. Of course you might want to clone the FileManager github repo and feed your edits back to the community (and us). Welcome to github!
