DuckDB 2.0 Support – Release Timeline and Contribution Opportunities

Hi,

With DuckDB 2.0 now released, I was wondering if there's an estimated timeline for updating DuckDB.NET.Data.Full to support the new engine version.

Are there any known blockers or planned tasks for the upgrade? I'd be happy to contribute if there's anything I can help with, whether it's implementation, testing, or documentation.

If there's already a tracking issue or a development branch for the migration, I'd appreciate a pointer.

Hi,

First of all, DuckDB.NET is already compatible with DuckDB 2.0. You can install DuckDB.NET.Data package, put DuckDB 2.0 native binaries next to your app (or in %PATH% or use SetDllImportResolver) and it will run on DuckDB 2.0.

Regarding the next release, I'm working on some breaking changes and improvements and hope to release a new version that will bundle 2.0 binaries in 3-4 weeks. As for contribution, Sponsorships are always welcome
