What's new

• Wallpaper options editor. Batter Builder now edits the whole template,
  not only community tweaks: the restore domain, previews, resources, banner
  and every option type (replace files, set a value in a .caml, remove files
  or a layer, picker, app bundle id). Pick files from the template or type
  them with wildcards, and bring in a Container folder with Add Folder….
  The Check page reports what GoldenNugget would refuse and options that
  would silently do nothing.
• Key suggestions. The key column suggests the keys GoldenNugget's own
  tweaks write in the chosen plist (135 keys), and fills in their type and
  value. A note shows each key's title and description, in Russian too.

Fixes

• The Linux archive stores real files instead of symlinks, so it unpacks
  correctly with any archive manager.

What's new

• Russian interface (View → Language), following the system by default.
• Undo and Redo (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z) for every change, including removed tweaks.
• iPhone Preview: the template roughly as GoldenNugget lists it, with working
  switches and controls, next to what GoldenNugget would write for them.
• Import from Plist… takes the keys you tick from an existing .plist file.
• Reorder tweaks by dragging them in the sidebar; new Tweak menu with shortcuts
  (Ctrl+T, Ctrl+D, Alt+↑/↓).
• Saving warns when GoldenNugget would refuse the template.
• Unsaved changes are kept every minute and offered back after a crash.
• File → Open Recent, and drag a .batter file onto the window to open it.
• Update check: the app tells you when a new release is out.
• Details → Files can remove files no tweak uses.

Fixes

• Saved templates were readable only by their owner (permissions 0600).
• Opening a template with a malformed choice list crashed the app.
• Submit to Catalog left an oversized file behind.
• Saving during the guided tour saved the tour's example instead of your template.

Batter Builder 1.1.0

What's new

• New app icon in GoldenNugget's style: an orange squircle with a gold rim, with a switch and a slider on a card. A simpler version is used at small sizes. It shows on the window, the Windows .exe, the macOS app and the DMG volume.
• Icons throughout the app: sidebar entries, toolbar and list buttons, the segments for write type, owner, on/off and control type, menus, and the problem levels on the Check page. They follow the light or dark appearance.
• macOS is now one Universal2 app for Intel and Apple Silicon, as a DMG or a ZIP. It runs on macOS 12 Monterey or later.
• Builds use PySide6-Essentials, so the downloads are smaller.
• Every build runs a built-in self-test. On macOS it runs on the app taken from the DMG, natively on arm64 and on x86_64 under Rosetta.

• BatterBuilder-macOS-Universal2.dmg: open it and drag Batter Builder.app into Applications. The .zip holds the same app. The app is ad-hoc signed and not notarized, so the first time, right-click it and choose Open. Checksums are in SHA256SUMS-macOS.txt.

• BatterBuilder-Linux.zip: unzip and run Batter Builder/Batter Builder.

Batter Builder 1.0.0

The first release of Batter Builder, a visual editor for GoldenNugget .batter templates with community tweaks (format 3). No JSON by hand.

What it does

• Tweaks: add switches with a label, an id, a description, an iOS range and whether they start on.

• Writes: set what each switch writes when it is on and when it is off:

  • typed plist keys;
  • a whole file stored in the template;
  • an empty file.

  The path box suggests GoldenNugget's own Managed Preferences files and says right away whether GoldenNugget can write there.

• Controls: add a slider, text box or choice list whose value fills keys of the type Control value.

• Checks: the template is checked with the same rules GoldenNugget applies when it loads one, with the apply summary's risk notes (low, medium or high). Errors are counted in the sidebar.

• Preview: shows the exact config.json that will be saved.

• Existing templates: open one and add tweaks to it. Wallpaper options, containers and previews are kept.

• Submit to Catalog: saves <id>.batter and opens the community catalog's upload page.

• Appearance: light and dark, following the system. The interface uses awesomeUI controls.
