Growthcraft Hops
Growthcraft Hops is a mod which adds a new crop to the game, hops. It also comes with Ale-brewing. itemHops.png
Hops are randomly dropped by destroying vines in bunches of 1-3. They can also be found at ready-made vineyards in villages.

Hop seeds can only be planted on tilled field with a rope on it. Their growth rate is affected by the number of crops and farmlands surrounding the hop vine in a 3x3 area, much like a regular crop (wheat, potato, carrot, etc.). Refer to the official Minecraft wiki for more information: Growth Rate.

The hop vine undergoes four visible stages. The first stage is a small vine. The vine grows small leaves at the second stage. The leaves grow bigger at the third stage. Destroying the plant at these three stages will yield nothing, wasting the plant. Small gem-like objects will appear when the plant reaches the fourth stage, signaling that the hops are mature and ready to be harvested. Right-clicking the plant will harvest it (without destroying the plant). Every harvest will drop 1-8 hops.
When it is on the fourth stage, the plant will start growing upwards. Additional vines created upward will start at the third stage instantly. The cycle will continue until the last block is 4 blocks below (meaning that a single plant can have 5 blocks of hop vine).
Bonemeal can be applied on any part of the plant to hasten the growing process.
itemAle.png Ale is a booze produced from wheat and hops.
It restores 2.5 x hunger.png .It also applies Haste I for 180 seconds and has a chance to induce/increase Tipsy by of 70%.
Extended Ale have Haste I that lasts for 480.6 seconds. Potent Ale have Haste II that lasts for only 90 seconds.
Ale is produced by mashing wheat and water in the in the brew kettle. The product must be boiled again with hops in the brew kettle before transferring into the ferment barrel.
