Growthcraft Rice

Growthcraft Rice is a mod which adds a new crop; rice. Alongside it also comes a new brew type; sake. Rice is found by bashing grass for seeds. Rice must then be planted in a specialized field known as a paddy. Paddies are created by using a shovel on tilled land, and then they must be filled with water.

When fully grown, rice can then be harvested. 6 grains of rice will create onigiri, also known as rice balls. They may also be fermented into sake using the barrels.

Farming

Rice is obtained from tall grass drops, just like wheat seeds, only rarer. Unlike wheat, which has separate seed and produce, rice only has one item which acts as the seed and produce at the same time.

Rice can only be planted on flooded paddies. Their growth rate is affected by the number of crops and paddies surrounding the rice crop in a 3x3 area, much like a regular crop (wheat, potato, carrot, etc.). Refer to the official Minecraft wiki for more information: Growth Rate.

The rice crop undergoes five visible stages. The first three stages only shows the leaves ("blades") in a growing order. At the fourth stage, the small bunch of the rice grain appears. It will elongate and bend down when it reaches the fifth and final stage. Destroying the crop before the final stage will only drop one rice. On the other hand, harvesting the crop at the fifth stage will drop 1-4 rice plus additional Fortune enchantment levels.

Bonemeal can be applied to the plant to hasten the growing process. The bonemeal effect doesn't only affect the plant it is applied on but the surrounding crops as well in a 3x3 area.
