I am incredibly proud to announce the release of Prescient v1.2.0!!!
For those new to the project: Prescient is a proactive, root-level Linux system guardian. It wires directly into your native package manager (apt, pacman) to predict and prevent system-breaking updates before they happen, complete with an atomic recovery engine for when things go sideways.
Here is what is new in the v1.2.0 Update:
- The "Zero-I/O" Testing Architecture:
Testing system-level code that touches/bootandtimeshiftis terrifying. So, I built a fully-mocked, Zero-I/Opytestsuite. It tests the Vanguard (predict) and Recovery engines by intercepting every single OS-level call. No root required, no real files touched, and absolutely zero accidental system wipes during CI.
Note: There are still a few test suites missing to reach 100% coverage, but the core architecture is mostly done and already merged.

Internal Code Refinements
Under the hood, shipped several small but critical stability updates to the internal code, improving how Prescient handles path resolutions and cache states. -
And of course updating the docs.
Join the Project!
Prescient is a FOSS project built for real Linux users. There are plenty of "Good First Issues" open. Whether you want to expand our Auto-Heal playbooks, write new heuristic tripwires, or just tell me my bash scripts are scary.
Check out the repo, star the project, and get your dev environment set up!
Predict. Protect. Recover.
