Semi-automatic map building in Constellation
Build Bot was created to speed up the map-development process in Constellation. It uses the well-known pyautogui Python module to 'print' an image of your choice onto the map builder.
"It's really sick, yeah you can use it to design your initial outlines"
Steps
- Download the entire buildbot folder here for mac and here for pc.
- Open the
buildbot
folder and then openbuildbot.exe
file
Steps
- Select an image by clicking image name
- Fill in the other details if you would like (can leave blank)
- Open a new map creator and zoom out so the empty map fills your screen
- Move build bot to the right hand side of the screen
- Cross your fingers and hit generate!
- If you want to stop printing as the application is running, move your cursor to a corner of your screen to activate the fail safe.
-
Select an image that has clean smooth lines for a nice looking output.
-
Picture not printing clearly? Try running your image through a stencil maker first to produce an image with clean smooth lines. I use this one.
-
If the image is not printing in the position you want, try adjusting the y and x offset
Build Bot was built as a hobby project, so bugs will likely not be fixed very quickly, however, if you want to report a bug, feel free to submit it here.
