Release list
Sakura Wars PS4RT v1.1
Sakura Wars PS4RT v1.1
A Linux x86-64 update focused on graphics performance and a simpler player experience for Sakura Wars (CUSA16429 v1.01).
What's new
- Graphics presets: Native, High, Medium, and Lowest options for choosing between visual quality and performance. Medium and Lowest target weaker GPUs.
- GPU optimizations: More efficient clearing of certain render targets; reduced dash motion-blur sampling and disabled character screen-space shadow effects on Medium and Lowest.
- Remembered game folder: Provide
--gameon first launch. After a successful setup, subsequent launches can usebash Play-Game.shalone. Use--gameagain if the folder moves or you want a different game extraction. - Polished release packaging: Restored the Crypto++ portable-builder recipe in the source archive, refined the player/source packaging, and kept licensing notices and required runtime assets.
Install and launch
Download the linux-x86_64 player archive and extract it into a writable directory. Supply your own extracted, plaintext CUSA16429 game folder:
bash Play-Game.sh --game "/absolute/path/to/CUSA16429"After successful setup:
bash Play-Game.shThe game must be updated to v1.01. If your extraction is v1.00, the included setup interface can apply your matching update PKG. This modifies the selected extracted game directory in place, so keep a backup if you need the unpatched v1.00 files. The native update and optional DLC installers remain available; they do not download game content.
Platform and notes
- Linux x86-64, glibc 2.35+, Python 3, compatible Vulkan 1.3 GPU drivers.
- The portable player archive includes the required application libraries and PS4RT tools. No development toolchain is needed to play.
- Graphics changes and gameplay were smoke-tested on Linux, including a low-end Radeon integrated GPU. Performance varies with hardware, scene, resolution and graphics settings.
- This is experimental compatibility software, not a general-purpose PS4 emulator. No game files, firmware, keys, PKGs, saves, or DLC are distributed.
For troubleshooting, see PLAYER_README.txt in the extracted player directory and the repository README.

- 1080p, 1440p, and 4K output
- FSR 3.1 and bundled FSR 4 v07 support on compatible hardware
- Custom illustrated Sakura Wars graphics overlay with in-game menu sounds
- Original 30 FPS and experimental 60 FPS modes, including game-specific timing and combat fixes
- Configurable outlines: Full, Silhouettes only, or Off

Compatibility
Tested on Fedora Linux with AMD/RADV graphics through Chapters 1–3, including battles, cinematics, exploration, controller input, and saving/loading.
The original 30 FPS mode remains the default. Experimental 60 FPS has been tested through Chapters 1–3, but later chapters may still expose timing or visual issues. If you encounter a problem at 60 FPS, try reproducing it at 30 FPS.
A complete playthrough and compatibility across other Linux distributions and GPUs have not been verified.
Installation
Download and extract the attached Sakura-Wars-PS4RT-85ac44f-linux-x86_64.tar.gz runtime archive, then run:
bash Play-Game.sh --game "/path/to/your/CUSA16429"
Requires your own extracted, plaintext Sakura Wars PS4 game files (CUSA16429). Game update v1.01 is mandatory. If your extracted game is v1.00, the launcher will ask for your own matching v1.01 update PKG, install the update into the selected game directory, and then offer optional DLC installation. Back up your original v1.00 game folder first, as the update modifies it in place. Already-updated v1.01 game folders launch directly.
No game files, update/DLC PKGs, or PS4 firmware are included. Players must supply their own legally obtained content.
Requires native x86-64 Linux with glibc 2.35+, Python 3, and a working Vulkan graphics stack. The portable bundles its application libraries and its native PKG extractor; no compilation is required to play.
