Releases: Hound-Protocol/Joint-Operations
Release list
Site 1.7.1 · Back to the mod
- Projects moved to the Hound Protocol website: the Our projects section and the new description from 1.7.0 belonged on Hound Protocol's own website, not here. They are removed from this site's Team page, main menu, README, team document and organization profile guide, which describe Hound Protocol as before. The Hound Protocol website now shows our first video game (coming soon) and the two multiplayer mods.
- Roadmap: this release's base detail is a lifebuoy hung beside the bollards on the south dock, drawn by CSS alone.

Site 1.7.0 · Three projects
- Hound Protocol's projects: the Team page has a new Our projects section. Our first video game leads it, as Hound Protocol's main project: an original, atmospheric offroad trucking game set in a world of our own, Coming soon, its name still classified. Then the two multiplayer mods: MGSV: Joint Operations (in development, 0.1 first) and Lost Planet 2 multiplayer (planned, after Joint Operations).
- New description everywhere: A community-focused organization that builds ambitious projects: two multiplayer mods, and our first video game, coming soon. It is on the Team page, the main menu, the README, the team document and the suggested GitHub organization profile (team). The mods stay free and non-commercial; Hound Protocol is not a company or a studio yet.
- Roadmap: this release's base detail is a tanker crawling across the south sea with its stern light on, drawn by CSS alone.

Site 1.6.0 · Open channel
- Join Discord button: documents about the Discord server now carry a Join Discord button under their opening lines: about a third of the page wide, centred, in Discord's blurple with a pressed-button edge and a light sweep. It opens our invite in a new tab. In the Handbook: the Discord Member Guide (HP-GDE-008), Discord Administration (HP-SOP-008) and the Community and Moderation Policy (HP-POL-005); in the Library: the Discord Blueprint.
- Animated icon: a chat bubble whose three dots type and whose signal pulses, drawn in code. It is our own design, not Discord's logo, so it needs no permission and no image file. Animation stops with Calm mode or reduced motion. Printed sheets and PDFs show the invite address instead of the button.
- For writers: put the line
<!-- hp:join-discord -->in any document to place the button there. GitHub hides the line (HP-GDE-005). - Roadmap: this release's base detail is the V of a patrol boat's wake off the east platform, drawn by CSS alone.

Site 1.5.0 · Bearing
- Position marker: the browser's scrollbar was nearly invisible against the frame, so an orange marker now rides beside the right-hand ruler, like a depth gauge on a Metal Gear radar. A chevron points at the ruler with how far down the page you are (000 to 100), and an orange line fills the track above it. It turns green at the end of the page.
- It stays out of the way: the marker sits just left of the ruler, never over its lines, between the corner brackets and below the section bar's line. It hides when the page fits on screen, shows only the chevron when the margin is narrow, and stays hidden on phones and when the margin is too narrow for it (below about 1100 pixels wide). It takes no clicks, and screen readers skip it.
- Roadmap: this release's base detail is a low fog bank drifting along the horizon, drawn by CSS alone.

Site 1.4.0 · Two doors
- Choose a zone first: the Docs tab now opens on two large buttons, Library and Handbook, each with its own colour (steel blue and gold), texture (brushed steel drawers and woven binding cloth), icon (a filing cabinet and a ring binder), document count, a line on what it holds and a clear Open bar. Picking one switches to that interface. Direct links to a document still open it straight away; the Library's own address is now
#/docs/library. - Zone buttons inside: at the top of the Library and the Handbook, the two zones are now raised buttons with the same icons, textures and colours, a Switch → label on the other zone and You are here on the current one. A tester found the old flat panels easy to overlook.
- Roadmap: this release's base detail is a pair of mooring bollards on the command platform's south dock, drawn by CSS alone.

Site 1.3.1 · Clear path
- Wording: the clearance windows now say Actions such as claiming a contract, downloading a build or joining a session need a higher clearance, instead of "acting, such as …". Guest pass requests are described as a 24-hour pass, usually LV3, since LV7 picks the level when approving.
- Buttons: in the clearance windows, Sign in with GitHub spans the top, with the two other choices side by side below it, instead of one button wrapping onto its own line. On phones they stack.
- Firewalls and privacy tools: when Portmaster, uBlock Origin, Pi-hole or a similar tool blocks the sign-in relay, sign-in, guest passes and the LV7 desk now say so and name the address to allow, instead of a bare network error or "the sign-in window was closed". Options → Sign-in relay says the same. The Website Handbook lists every address the site needs, with Portmaster steps (HP-GDE-015, section 7).
- Sign-in for everyone: the setup guide said to make the GitHub App installable Only on this account. That lets only Hound-Protocol members sign in: everyone else gets GitHub's 404 page. The guide now says Any account (Make public), and why that is safe (sign-in setup, section 2).
- Roadmap: this release's base detail is a green channel buoy, bobbing south-west of the command platform and flashing every four seconds, drawn by CSS alone.

Site 1.3.0 · Guest Pass 2.0
- Short pass links: guest passes are numbered GC-00001, GC-00002 and so on. A link is the site plus the number and a 6-character secret, for example
…/#/GC-00001-7KQ4XW, about 15 characters instead of 120. The secret stops anyone from claiming a pass by guessing the next number. - Four clearances: LV2 Guest Pass (every section, no restricted documents), LV3 Guest Pass (Staff), LV5 Guest Pass · Low Clearance (Staff and Leads), LV6 Guest Pass · High Clearance (Staff, Leads and Administration).
- Claim by name, on one device: opening a link shows You have been granted temporary clearance via Guest Pass with the clearance. The recipient writes their name (required, for the pass index) and presses Claim. Their credential then rises in the middle of the window, with the sign-in reveal. The pass is bound to that browser by a key that can never be read out, and every request is signed with it. Anyone else opening the link is told This pass is already in use by ….
- 24 hours, with extensions: a pass runs 24 hours from the claim. An hour before the end, the guest is warned and can Request 24 h extension. Only one request waits at a time, and only LV7 can approve it.
- The LV7 desk: live passes on the left (New code, Revoke, Clear), visitor requests and extension requests on the right (approve a visitor at LV2, LV3, LV5 or LV6). Below them, the History of every pass ever issued: to whom, which level, when it was claimed, extensions, and whether it is active, never claimed, ran out of time, was revoked (by whom) or was ended by its holder. Forget removes a finished pass from the history on request.
- Visitor requests are bound at once to the requesting browser, so an approved pass opens there by itself.
- Security: the relay checks every signature and its time (2-minute window), opens only the repositories the pass's level allows, keeps codes only as an HMAC, and names are cleaned. 53 relay checks run on every pull request, and the whole flow was tested end to end in browsers. Passes from before this release stop working.
- Needs the relay update: deploy the new
worker.js(relay version 4). For LV5 and LV6 passes, addGUEST_REPOSand install the GitHub App onhp-leadsandhp-admin(sign-in setup, section 6). - Roadmap: this release's base detail is a cloud's shadow drifting slowly across the sea, drawn by CSS alone.

Site 1.2.0 · Stay signed in
- Keep me signed in on this device (24 h): a new box in the sign-in window, off by default. Ticked, your sign-in is shared by every tab on that browser until the 24 hours run out. Signing out in one tab signs you out in all of them. Leave it off on shared or work computers. Your Profile shows which kind of session you have.
- Privacy and sign-in docs explain where the sign-in is kept in each case (privacy, sign-in).
- Roadmap: this release's base detail is a fishing boat's lantern bobbing on the horizon, drawn by CSS alone.

Site 1.1.0 · Open to read
- Every section is readable at LV1: Download, Sessions, Contribute and Mods no longer sit behind No access. Visitors can read everything public; restricted documents keep their own clearance.
- Acting needs LV2: claiming a contract and downloading a build (and, later, joining a session) open a small LV2 needed window with Sign in with GitHub and Request a guest pass. Claiming still needs a GitHub sign-in, because a claim carries your account.
- Welcome window: it now says you can read every section, and that acting needs a higher clearance.
- Fix: pressing Esc in a window (welcome, sign-in, guest pass) closed it and also sent you back to the main menu. Now Esc closes only the window.
- Download page: it now says Joint Operations includes no game files and has no connection to Konami.
- Roadmap: this release's base detail is a red warning light on the windsock mast, blinking by CSS alone.

v0.0.41 · Messages that clear
- Message timer: when you open Messages, a thin bar under each message starts running out. When it empties (20 seconds), the message clears itself.
- One clearance message: right after sign-in, the site briefly shows LV2 while GitHub confirms an owner card or a staff card's signature is checked. Clearance messages now wait until that is settled, so you are told only the clearance Hound ID actually granted.
- Guest pass panel: when the sign-in relay still runs older code, the panel now says so plainly: the pass list, Revoke, Clear, Clear all and requests need its update. It no longer shows the misleading "This guest pass is not valid".
- Roadmap: this release's base detail is steam rising from two vents on the command platform.
