In 2010, the platform for qualitative research KWALON proposed an experiment to selected Qualitative Data Analysis QDA software designers. Participants were asked to analyse a dataset, gathered by organizers. The dataset was composed of on-line documents, press articles and websites (discussion forums) on the 2008 financial crisis.

As Cassandre's author, Christophe Lejeune proposed an exploratory analysis of the 168 text sources (101 newspapers & 67 discussion forums). It mainly consisted in thematic inventarization (creating registers for each topic) coupled with an examination of the orientation of statements about these topics (positive or negative).

The analysis can be browsed interactively on Cassandre/Porphyry 2008 Financial Crisis (available soon without password).
