Releases: IP-XACT/XactFlow

v0.2.0

@mtravaillard mtravaillard released this 27 Oct 14:47

This release changes elaboration to linking across the whole codebase.
The use of elaboration could be confusing because it's not a proper elaboration, link is better for our case.
All functions, python object referencing to elaborate has been renamed to include link instead, therefor, this include breaking changes, that's why the version have been bumped to 0.2.

XactFlow 0.1.3

New

  • Library.add(document, path=None, *, replace=False) adds a document that only exists in memory, such as an importer's result, without writing it to XML first. It gets the same checks as a scanned file. replace=True overwrites an entry with the same VLNV instead of reporting a duplicate.
  • Library.add_file(path) adds a single IP-XACT file, with the same filtering and checks as scan.

Changed

  • Library.scan now raises FileNotFoundError or NotADirectoryError when a scan root does not exist or is not a directory. Before, a wrong path silently gave an empty library.
  • New warnings in library.diagnostics:
    • a scan root from which no IEEE 1685-2022 document was indexed;
    • a file from another IP-XACT version (e.g. 1685-2014), which is skipped.
  • LibraryEntry.path is now None for documents added without a path.

Breaking

  • Code that passed a scan root that doesn't exist and expected an empty library now gets an exception.

Fixes #3

Initial release

First public release of XactFlow, multi-file IEEE 1685-2022 IP-XACT elaboration and
semantic consistency checking built on top of
ipxact-compiler.

What's included

  • Library: directory-scan VLNV indexing across all five IP-XACT document types
    ipxact-compiler supports.
  • elaborate(): resolves a Design against a Library into one combined, navigable
ElaboratedDesign graph (component instances, interconnections, monitor
    interconnections, ad hoc connections).
  • xactflow.SCR: all 281 IEEE 1685-2022 Annex B semantic consistency rules registered
and discoverable, 7 with real check logic (VLNV cross-references and interconnection
compatibility/mode rules), the rest tracked as stubs ahead of implementation.
  • Exporter/Importer plugin interfaces, discovered via xactflow.exporters /
xactflow.importers entry points, so third-party packages can plug in without
    XactFlow depending on them.
  • A CLI (xactflow elaborate, xactflow check) where every installed exporter/importer
becomes its own top-level subcommand automatically.

Status

This is an early, alpha-stage release. Only 7 of 281 Annex B rules have real check
logic, there is no IP-XACT expression evaluation yet (most overlap/alignment rules
depend on it), no multi-level design hierarchy, and no DesignConfiguration
application. XactFlow itself ships no exporters or importers. See the
README for the full list
of known limitations and what's planned next.
