The native GLaDOS pool miner. It mines into the same pool as the browser miner at mine.aperture.institute: same ledger, same payouts, paid in the reward you choose. It's 2–3× faster than the browser on the same hardware.

Install

Replace 0xYOURADDRESS with your wallet address (42 characters, starting 0x).

Linux and macOS (Terminal)

curl -fsSL https://mine.aperture.institute/install.sh | sh -s -- 0xYOURADDRESS

Windows (PowerShell)

irm https://mine.aperture.institute/install.ps1 | iex

That asks for your address. To give it up front, with options:

& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm https://mine.aperture.institute/install.ps1))) -Address 0xYOURADDRESS

Options

What Linux / macOS Windows
What you are paid in (as on the miner page) --reward glados -Reward glados
How hard it works, 10–100% --duty 50 -Duty 50
CPU threads --threads 4 -Threads 4
What an NVIDIA GPU mines Pearl by default; --algo neoscrypt for NeoScrypt Pearl by default; -Algo neoscrypt
CPU only --no-gpu -NoGpu

With an NVIDIA GPU, the installer test-starts the Pearl helper once and mines Pearl, which pays the most per card. A card too old for it (before the GTX 10 series) mines NeoScrypt instead.

Example, NeoScrypt instead of Pearl, at half power:

curl -fsSL https://mine.aperture.institute/install.sh | sh -s -- 0xYOURADDRESS --algo neoscrypt --duty 50

What the installer does

  • Downloads the files for your system from this release.
  • Checks each file against SHA256SUMS.
  • Puts them in one folder:
    • Linux: ~/.local/share/glados-miner
    • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/glados-miner
    • Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\glados-miner
  • Starts mining in that window.

There is no background service, nothing starts at boot, and no sudo or admin is needed. Ctrl+C stops it. To mine again later, run mine (Windows: mine.cmd) in that folder. To remove it, delete the folder.

Windows Defender may flag it, because it is a cryptocurrency miner, which is what you asked for.
