VR-EyeCapture-Setup-v0.5.3.exe— the installer. Run it and accept the one Windows administrator (UAC) prompt. Installing over 0.5.x keeps your settings. 0.5.1 and 0.5.2 also offer this update themselves (tray: "update available").VR-EyeCapture-OBS-v0.5.3.zip— only for OBS users (the live view source).
SteamVR games you enabled: if the tray shows "N game(s) need a repair" after the update, click it (or open SteamVR games... and untick / tick the game). Close the game and SteamVR first.
New
- "Shared view" check box (#1): app window → Video tab → Stereo 3D → on the Dome fill row (
dome_shared_view, VR180 / VR360 only).- Ticked (default): each eye shows only what the other eye also sees. Easy on the eyes.
- Cleared: each eye shows its full view. The video is wider (on a Quest 3 about 14° more on each outer side), but only one eye sees those outer strips, which can strain the eyes. This is the wider look of 0.5.0.
- New app window layout: the settings are on four tabs (Recording, Video, Export, App), with a new header. The text is sharp on high-DPI screens and when you move the window to another monitor.
Notes
- Needs ffmpeg for the YouTube conversion:
winget install Gyan.FFmpeg.Essentials. - Every change is checked by automatic tests on a real GPU before the release.
