Minor update altering the brutal charm, (from the brutal charm patch add-on), so that it can not be dropped or sold. This assure the player doesn't accidently get rid of it, since its safe to assume if you went through the trouble patching it into the mod that the player won't mind it taking up inventory space.

Dawn of Djinn: Second Mix aka 2.0

The first release of Second Mix. A version of Dawn of Djinn remade from the ground up, to the point of almost being a whole new mod in of it self.

Note: Version 2 and above is not compatible with saves from verison 1 of Dawn of Djinn. It is recommended to use a fresh save with this update.

Updates include but are not limited too...

Restored/New Dialogue
Not only has the dialogue that was removed in version 1 releases has been restored, but additional alternations to a small handful of NPC dialogue have been made to better ease players into new Dawn of Djinn mechanics and personal flair. The main story beats remain the same, but you might see small alternations that take the changes the mod made into account, and perhaps a surprise or two along the way. A cutscene skip patch is included in the advanced set-up folder for those who still prefer to skip all dialogue.

Reworked Classes and Party Characters
Every class has been renamed and have a different assortment of Psynergy assigned to them, if not brand new all together. Default classes in particular are completely brand new with party character's default classes changed to better reflect it, along with new signature Psynergy for each of them. For example, Garret now behaves more like a physical glass cannon rather than a tank like in the OG Golden Sun. There are also two brand new classes that make use of Djinn combinations not used in the OG game nor version 1.

New Skills, Djinn, Psynergy, and more
New skills have been added between the new classes and equipment you find along the way. The majority of Djinn and Djinn charms have been reworked into new abilities for better balancing. Other skills, such as summons may have also been readjusted for balancing.

New enemies and attack patterns
Enemies, including bosses have been reworked to be better balanced with the new classes and abilities. A handful of new enemies that didn't exist in version 1 may have been sneaked in as well.

New Casual/Brutal Patches
Casual mode, aka the mode closer to the difficulty of the OG game, has been worked into a separate patch from the original game. Enemies stats and moves have been adjusted accordingly. The "main" patch has been renamed to veteran mode to better express that it's built for those already experienced with Golden Sun.

Brutal Keys still exist in the game, but not by default. Instead, via installing a patch from the advance set-up folder will allow you to have each of your party members start with a brutal key.

Advance Set-up Folder
Casual and Veteran mode come pre-made with the implementation of a single patch. However if there are additional features, either for extra challenge or to implement certain QOL features, you can choose to download the advance set-up folder to build your own Dawn of Djinn experience via downloading a variety of patches.

Additional Bug fixes/rebalances/ mis adjustments:

  • Casual mode is now a separate patch made for less experienced Golden Sun fans. The shop in Vale now sells a new piece of equipment in place of the former casual key.
  • The Brutal key no longer appears in-game. However, one can apply the brutal charm patch via "Advance set-up" then each party member will start with the brutal key equipped.
  • The quad-elemental class from version 1 has been drastically buffed in terms of stats and has had Psynergy changes, along with the other classes.
    • Further testing may be needed to determine if it now stands on its own merits or is just a niche gimmick class with easier access to utility Psynergy.
  • The Hermes Water Tret previously dropped has been removed.
  • The Carry Stone has been restored to its original location in the Venus Lighthouse.
  • Venus Lighthouse cookie glitch has been fixed.
  • Psynergy Equipment have been removed and replaced with normal Psynergy Items.
  • Tier 4 summons have been nerfed to no longer have secondary status effects.
  • Mia can no longer can equip swords, with one exception.
  • Various enemy formations have been adjusted to reduce visual bugs tied to too many enemies on screen at once.
  • Various rebalances to enemies and party character abilities.
  • Various weapons and armor have been rebalanced, if not replaced with new weapons and armor.
  • Reverted PC level curve back to vanilla game stats. Aka you can grind past level 30 without going insane.
  • Likely other adjustments that have been forgotten about due to the long development between updates.

Only just now realize Github had a "release" section...oops....

This is the most recent patch for "Version 1" fully finished with some minor fixes not present in previous versions...
zip file includes latest patch, along with older versions, and a "care package" of text files with things including a cheat sheet of the new Djinn and Djinn charm, as well as the item drops.

-Made some adjustments to the levels you learned utility Psynergy in the Jack Adept and Toolsmith classes to reduce the odds of sequence breaking without grinding.
-Made a minor adjustment to fix a boss while I was in the editor.
