Release list
DeadlockExtract extractor-1.8.0
DeadlockExtract.exe, built by GitHub Actions from the source in extractor/ at commit f360653.
Build log: https://github.com/JakeHornerMan/RiskofDeadlock/actions/runs/40193598442
SHA-256: b5c908e3ea2a92ac3241f9460f70f88ebe6515dbddfa0e83eaf4392ffbc855ad
What it does: reads the hero models, animations, icons and sounds from the player's own Deadlock install
(pak01_dir.vpk, opened read-only) and writes them to %LOCALAPPDATA%\DeadlockOfRain\cache for the Risk of Rain 2
plugin. It makes no network connections and changes nothing else.
Why it is a separate program: the Valve file reader it uses (ValveResourceFormat) only runs on .NET 10, which
Risk of Rain 2's Unity runtime can't load. Running it as its own program lets it follow Deadlock's file-format
updates by updating that library. Self-contained single file, so players need no .NET install.
