MSC client v0.1.11 and server v2.1.7 - MSC Hub and SKATE payouts
MSC server 2.1.7 — MSC Hub 0.1.13 and S.K.A.T.E. payouts
This server update includes the supplied MSC Hub 0.1.13 server changes and the MSC_Skate 0.3.6 winner payout bridge. Winners receive 100 MSC per opponent from the roster frozen at match start (100–900 MSC for 2–10 players). Duplicate submissions and restart replays do not pay twice; credits and receipts are persisted together. Live multiplayer payouts were tested successfully by the user.
Install MSC_Skate 0.3.6 on the server authority and participating clients. Ordinary official ReSkate clients can use the MSC plugins; the MSC custom client remains 0.1.11. Native wallet access is restricted to the trusted server plugin MSC_Skate. Server authority cannot independently prove the player's physical trick occurred.
Updating
Back up the executable, configuration and entire data directory before updating. This executable-only server update preserves your existing configuration, Mods, Plugins, Steam libraries, world-layers.json and wallet data. Automatic updates remain enabled from Jish2637/ReSkateMerge. The release tag stays v0.1.11 to preserve installed client launcher compatibility; only the server manifest entry advances to 2.1.7.
Wallet migration and rollback
Wallet storage advances to schema 4. Older server executables cannot read schema 4. Rollback requires stopping the server and restoring both the older executable and the matching pre-upgrade data backup. Restoring that backup reverses transactions made since it was taken.
Source and validation
The server source is committed on main and included in the versioned source ZIP. BUILD_INFO.json identifies the exact source commit, executable hash and test results. The original client source tag and client downloads remain unchanged. This update carries forward the supplied Hub server improvements, including roulette/blackjack and wager handling changes.
Previous client release notes (client files remain unchanged):
MSC server 2.1.6 — MSC Hub plugin support
Players using standard ReSkate can now open the MSC Hub through the MSC Hub plugin. The existing MSC custom client Hub continues to work.
The plugin provides the shop, collection, profile, leaderboards, points transfers, Coin Flip, Dice Duel, High/Low, Slots and permission-filtered staff tools. Balances, purchases, wagering outcomes, refunds and staff permissions remain server-authoritative. The bridge adds private, bounded plugin messages to the existing MSC handlers; it does not change economy formats or reward rules.
Updating a server
This is a Windows server update for an existing MSC server installation. Keep the existing Steam runtime DLLs and world-layers.json beside the executable. The archive contains no replacement configuration, roles, wallets or other live data.
Back up the executable, configuration and entire data directory before updating. The normal server updater can install this version when automatic updates are enabled and the server's update conditions permit it. --no-update or auto_update: false disables automatic installation. This published build keeps updates enabled from Jish2637/ReSkateMerge.
For a manual upgrade, stop the server and replace ReSkateServer.exe from the 2.1.6 ZIP. Start the server with the existing configuration and data. No custom client update is required for this server patch; the public MSC client stays at 0.1.11.
To offer the plugin to joining players, merge this section into ReSkateServer.json while the server is stopped:
"plugins": {
"required": ["MSC_Midnight_Skate_Club-MSC_Hub-0.1.1"]
}This is the published Thunderstore ID and requests version 0.1.1 or newer. Server wagering and permissions still apply; this update does not enable wagering where it was disabled.
Rollback
Stop the server and restore the previous executable. The bridge adds no persistence migration. If a data restore is needed, restore the complete matching backup, understanding that this reverses later transactions. Keep test-economy data separate from production.
Validation
The package includes actual automated test results and source/build identity in BUILD_INFO.json. Tests cover the bridge, existing MSC shop/activities/staff operations, persistence, protocol 55 and archive installation preserving configuration/data. The broader server park/poll test has a separately recorded poll-chat assertion failure; it is not claimed to pass. User feedback confirms the plugin works in-game; the latest interface revisions and an actual production auto-update remain separate live acceptance checks.
The existing GitHub release tag remains v0.1.11 because installed launchers validate it against the unchanged client version. Only its server entry advances to 2.1.6. The previous server archive and manifest are preserved for rollback; use the 2.1.6 source ZIP for this server's corresponding source.
Previous client release notes (client files remain unchanged):
MSC client/launcher v0.1.11 and Windows dedicated server v2.1.5 bring the upstream ReSkate 2.1.2-era updates and protocol 55 into the MSC custom build.
- Restore the complete MSC first-person startup, settings, profiles, glance/right-stick controls, spectator camera and reset controls.
- Preserve MSC Hub, enhanced SKATE rules, trick detection, terminology and practice feedback alongside upstream plugin, rendering, map and required-plugin updates.
- Include the supplied ported MSC server with protocol 55, required-plugin support and the separate MSC interface packet.
- Enable client/server binary updates exclusively from Jish2637/ReSkateMerge.
The corrected client was tested in-game successfully by the user. Final Windows builds and selected regression checks are recorded in BUILD_INFO.json. Existing server configuration and player data are kept during archive updates.
Downloads: the client ZIP contains the launcher, DLL and bundled camera preset. The server ZIP contains ReSkateServer.exe and documentation. The Source ZIP contains the full client and server source and build scripts. Install client and server updates together for protocol 55 compatibility.
Upstream add-ons migrated to plugins continue to use the upstream plugin system. This release supports the pinned Skate game build 20260929; it does not add support for a different Skate.exe.
ReSkateMerge v0.1.10
MSC S.K.A.T.E. grind combinations and feedback
- Additional grind identities now require a continuous hold before joining a combination. The first grind counts normally; the default minimum for later grinds is 0.50 seconds.
- Adds an Insert-menu duration control (0-3 seconds, 0.05-second steps); zero disables the minimum. Hosting preferences are saved and frozen for each match.
- Adds basic invalid-trick feedback, including excessive grounded rotation, plus an optional local Detailed trick feedback setting for concise reasons and counted/omitted grind timings.
- Vanilla S.K.A.T.E. behavior is unchanged. No boneless or no-comply changes are included.
Compatibility
Client-only update; MSC server 2.1.4 remains unchanged. All participants need the updated client to use the new enhanced rules revision. Older MSC or vanilla participants use the existing native vanilla fallback.
Existing servers forward gameplay traffic independently of optional rules decoding. The older server activity/statistics decoder may not recognize the new enhanced rules, so statistics/activity coverage is separate from gameplay compatibility.
Update through the custom launcher or download the Windows x64 ZIP. Requires your own Steam copy of skate.
Validation
Local Release regression suite: 113 passed, zero failed, one skipped (trainer tuning-name validation requires installed game data). Coverage includes 499/500/501 ms boundaries, identity re-entry, duplicate/reordered observations, configurable and frozen rules, feedback persistence/lifecycle, vanilla codec fixtures and shared server relay/activity tests. Live multiplayer gameplay and verification against an already deployed server binary remain outstanding; compilation and isolated tests are not proof of interoperability.
ReSkateMerge v0.1.9
ReSkateMerge v0.1.8
ReSkateMerge v0.1.7
MSC Hub Slots
Client v0.1.7 | MSC Server v2.1.4
- Adds Slots to MSC Hub Activities with animated reels, server-generated results, payouts and recent wins.
- Includes a 3.5-second cooldown, request deduplication and durable balance/ledger updates.
- Failed saves roll back the spin and pause the economy until server restart.
- Older Hub clients keep their existing three activities. Slots requires both the updated client and server.
- Vanilla and MSC S.K.A.T.E. code is unchanged.
Downloads and installation
Clients: download ReSkateMerge-v0.1.7-Windows-x64.zip, extract into your MSC installation and run ReSkateLauncher.exe, or update through the existing custom launcher. Requires your own Steam copy of skate.
Server owners: download ReSkateServer-v2.1.4-Windows-x64.zip. Stop your server and back up its executable, configuration and entire data directory before updating. Existing wagering settings remain in effect; Slots does not enable global wagering. Optional wagers.slots_enabled defaults true and wagers.slots_max_stake defaults 500.
Rollback: after Slots records have been saved, server 2.1.3 cannot load that ledger. Restore both the previous server executable and its matching pre-update data backup. Restoring data reverses transactions since the backup.
Validation
The user reported that the local paired build works. Automated coverage includes all 125 outcomes across persistence/reload, restart without repeated payout, older-client capability restrictions, reconnect reset, duplicate requests, cooldown, private results, filesystem save-failure rollback and fresh-server recovery. Full Release regression results: 113 passed, zero failed, one skipped (trainer tuning-name validation requires installed game data). Simulated client tests are not proof of interoperability with actual older client binaries; those sessions are not separately recorded as verified.
This is an unofficial custom ReSkate client, not an official ReSkate release.
ReSkateMerge v0.1.6
ReSkateMerge v0.1.6 - MSC SKATE startup hotfix
Fixes MSC enhanced SKATE matches failing to synchronize when the native game starts before the host's network start arrives.
- Retains the early native match entry and attaches the MSC relay/detector after the authenticated host start.
- Preserves early turn information and avoids sending a second force-start request to an already-running match.
- Duplicate starts cannot reset an enhanced match; cancelled or unloaded matches cannot be revived by a late start.
- If native play already advanced before synchronization, or participants/setup differ, the affected local MSC match exits with a retry notice rather than inventing an enhanced result.
Vanilla SKATE gameplay is unchanged: native judging, setup, trick attempts, turn progression and packet layouts retain their existing behavior. MSC detector calculations and custom rules are unchanged.
Client-only update. No server update required. Server 2.1.3 remains pinned to the same archive URL, version and hashes; no server assets are uploaded.
Install
Update through the MSC launcher, or close the game and extract ReSkateMerge-v0.1.6-Windows-x64.zip into your launcher folder. Preserve settings and presets. Both launcher and runtime are version 0.1.6. Existing update preferences and --no-update remain respected.
Validation
Release builds succeeded from 345fd9884c98f53579e6e79d4825e3d9785375b5 on main. Full configured CTest run: 112 passed, 0 failed, 1 skipped (113 total). The skipped trainer_tuning_names check requires an installed-game data path.
The new startup regression fails against the released v0.1.5 relay with the duplicate-force-start error, and passes with the fix. Coverage includes early native entry, both startup orders, same-tick delivery, early turns, duplicate messages, enhanced attempt submission/replay, cleanup and unchanged vanilla submission.
Actual in-game MSC/MSC confirmation of this hotfix is still pending. Previous live feedback about v0.1.5 is not treated as confirmation of this new fix. Complete source, BUILD_INFO and SHA256SUMS are included.
Post-publication verification: PASS. Anonymous GitHub release discovery and binary downloads succeeded. The actual WinHTTP updater replaced copies of the previous launcher and DLL in an isolated fixture; both SHA-256 values match launcher.json. A second check reported the fixture up to date. The repository is public, and this is the normal latest release. C:\Games\TestReSkate remains unchanged.
ReSkateMerge v0.1.5
ReSkateMerge v0.1.5 — SKATE compatibility (client-only)
Automatically play SKATE throwdowns with either vanilla ReSkate or MSC clients through the existing flags and lobby.
- Mixed or unconfirmed participants use native vanilla SKATE.
- All confirmed MSC participants retain the complete MSC detector, custom rules, numerical settings, trick signatures and comparison behavior.
- Compatibility is selected per throwdown and locked before gameplay starts. Existing vanilla and MSC setup flows are retained.
- Dual-format packets support vanilla-hosted and MSC-hosted matches without requiring changes to vanilla clients.
Client update only. No server update is required. MSC server remains 2.1.3; its existing version, archive hash and executable hash are unchanged. No server binary is rebuilt or uploaded with this release. The update manifest points to the original server archive so existing servers remain on their current binary.
Install
Existing MSC launcher users with updates enabled can update normally. For manual installation, close the game and extract ReSkateMerge-v0.1.5-Windows-x64.zip into your launcher folder, preserving settings and presets. Loose launcher and DLL assets are also provided.
The launcher and runtime are both version 0.1.5. Update preferences and --no-update remain respected. No game-build pins or save formats change.
Validation
The user reported successful live testing of the compatibility update before publication. Automated validation is separate: 112 tests passed, 0 failed, 1 skipped (113 total). The skipped trainer_tuning_names test requires an installed-game data path. The passing suites include SKATE detector/rules, native filtering, relay mode selection, codec fixtures, updater, multiplayer, first-person/controller and existing server-consumer regressions. Vanilla offer/join/start/attempt bytes were checked against the compiled, untouched vanilla reference codec.
Server-consumer tests use the dual codec in the source tree; this client release does not change optional statistics decoding in an already-deployed server binary. Older incompatible MSC builds are not certified for the new fallback lifecycle.
Built with Visual Studio 2026 x64 from commit 02076090326f749f8c2cdb4cf1dfc9c9e1df16db on main. Source ZIP, binary hashes and BUILD_INFO.json are included. Rollback by restoring the previous client binaries from v0.1.4; server binaries remain unchanged.
ReSkateMerge v0.1.4
ReSkateMerge MSC v0.1.4 / MSC server v2.1.3
- The launcher now identifies itself as MSC Launcher v0.1.4 using its compiled version. The ready-to-play status identifies the MSC runtime. Branding remains available offline and with automatic updates disabled.
- Correct the missing half-turn in no-comply terminology display. Physical rotation tracking, native scoring and S.K.A.T.E. judging/signatures are unchanged.
- Exclude all staff roles, including offline and custom staff, from weekly, points, time and events leaderboards before ranking, pagination and announcements. Stored balances and statistics are retained; non-staff VIPs remain eligible.
- Restore automatic [FP] presence from actual local first-person camera ownership. Sequenced five-second heartbeats pass server duplicate filtering; third person, spectating and camera loss clear presence, with the existing fifteen-second server expiry.
- Retain the graphical MSC shop/profile, collection, leaderboards, transfers, activities, staff tools and server settings. The Unicode role-tag proposal is excluded. Protocol 52, data formats and economy settings are preserved.
Downloads and installation
Client: download ReSkateMerge-v0.1.4-Windows-x64.zip, close the game, back up the existing launcher/DLL and extract into the launcher directory. The separate launcher and DLL assets are also available. Preserve settings and presets.
Server: download ReSkateServer-v2.1.3-Windows-x64.zip, stop the server, back up the executable/configuration/entire data directory and extract into the existing server folder. The archive does not replace live configuration, roles, wallets or saves.
The published launcher.json includes both client and server update entries. Existing installations with updates enabled use Jish2637/ReSkateMerge through their normal update paths. Saved update settings and --no-update remain respected; remove the private-test --no-update flag only if you want automatic updates again. Publication does not restart or modify running installations.
Rollback: close the game/stop the server and restore backed-up binaries, or download the previous v0.1.3 release (server 2.1.2). Restore paired data backups only if necessary, since that reverses later transactions.
Verification
Windows x64 Release built with Visual Studio 2026 from d497fd3. Full configured CTest run: 111 passed, 0 failed, 1 skipped, 112 total. The skipped trainer_tuning_names check requires a configured installed-game data path; other suites exercised their fixtures. Includes updater/branding, first-person, terminology/S.K.A.T.E., multiplayer/session, MSC economy/activity/staff and persistence regressions. An ordinary simulated observer retains FP visibility through forty seconds of sequenced heartbeats. Packaging also verifies server archive installation and existing configuration/wallet preservation.
The user confirmed live testing of the FP repair before publication. Physical no-comply calibration, visual/controller appearance and broader live two-client activity/transfer acceptance are not established by this release run. Automated results are recorded separately from that user-confirmed FP test. The source/install documentation records the earlier pre-confirmation status; this release note reflects the latest acceptance result.
Source: PR #4, with the test-harness fix in PR #5. Complete source and SHA256SUMS.txt are included as release assets. Client/launcher machine version is 0.1.4; server machine version is 2.1.3.
ReSkateMerge v0.1.3
ReSkateMerge v0.1.3 adds the MSC Hub and makes the MSC implementation the standard dedicated server. The release pairs client/launcher 0.1.3 with Windows x64 server 2.1.2, built from source bf0d1ba0589b54ff32448f9c535be137c7752dd9.
Client and server
- Graphical shop, owned tags/shimmers, cosmetic menu previews, profile/daily progress, leaderboards and Steam-ID-based transfers.
- Coin Flip, Dice Duel and High/Low screens with working stake confirmation, sequential animated dice reveals, coin/card suspense and clear win/loss/refund banners showing payout and net change. Animations present server-issued results; payout rules remain unchanged.
- Role-filtered staff forms for moderation, chat/voice, roles, teleport, objects, saved builds, votes, maps, gameplay permissions and server settings. Changes require server-issued review; existing permission/rank checks remain authoritative.
- Successful public lobby creation announces once in chat, through either Hub or slash commands. Lobby names stay on one line.
- Existing green-labelled shimmer now displays as Shimmer cyan, matching its blue/cyan gradient. Ownership is retained;
/colour shimmer-cyanand the old spelling select the same item. There are still five shimmer products. - Protocol remains 52, with optional MSC negotiation and fallback on unsupported servers. Existing ReSkateMerge first-person, USB/PS5/controller, Sketchy Landings, terminology and S.K.A.T.E. features remain included. Roulette, Slots and Blackjack are deferred.
Installation and future updates
The existing ReSkateMerge launcher receives the client update on the normal latest-release channel. For manual installation, close the game before replacing client binaries.
Server owners must first stop the server, back up the executable/configuration/data directory, and install the server ZIP. This server's updater uses Jish2637/ReSkateMerge, including the server archive and executable hashes in launcher.json. Future packaged releases make server updates available through the existing update mechanism; source pushes alone do not. Existing --no-update and update controls remain available.
The server ZIP contains no replacement live configuration, roles, wallet data or game saves. Existing economy settings/reward rules remain; wagering stays disabled if configured off. Backups and previous releases support rollback. Publishing this release does not deploy or restart anyone's running server.
Validation and artifacts
Full integrated CTest suite: 111 passed, zero failed, one installed-game-only check skipped (112 total). Release ZIP tests: five passed, two platform-specific cases skipped. All feature-critical suites passed, including MSC protocol/session, economy/shop/stats/wagers/staff/persistence, real ImGui activity rendering, original client feature tests and updater validation. The server archive is validated using the real updater extraction code, including executable hash and preservation of fixture configuration/wallet files.
The client and server ZIPs include BUILD_INFO.json with source identity and binary hashes. SHA256SUMS.txt covers both ZIPs, source ZIP, manifest and standalone launcher/DLL/server binaries. Both Windows builds use Visual Studio 2026 x64 Release. Supported-game and DepotDownloader pins are unchanged.
Live acceptance: the user tested earlier MSC builds. Latest animation appearance, controller feel and full two-client gameplay acceptance remain live checks; automated results do not establish those outcomes. No game installation or user server data was changed during release preparation.
ReSkateMerge v0.1.2
ReSkateMerge v0.1.2 includes main commit add8ea8 (PR #2, exact-spin terminology fixes) and adds configurable host-owned Game of S.K.A.T.E. rules.
Open INS > ONLINE > S.K.A.T.E. RULES in either menu style. Host preferences cover flips, grabs, grinds and ground tricks plus the existing grind-adjacent minimum (default 115 degrees), spin rounding offset (90 degrees) and grounded recovery travel limit (450 degrees). Individual Reset controls and Reset to current defaults are included. Native setup must also allow a category; manuals remain disabled.
Preferences save to %LOCALAPPDATA%\ReSkate\trainer\skate-host-rules.json for future hosted matches. The match freezes the host's effective rules and sends them to guests. All S.K.A.T.E. participants need compatible v0.1.2 rules support: legacy clients and mismatched rules are refused rather than judged differently. Other throwdown modes, native trick identities, turn handling and general protocol 52 remain unchanged.
Version 0.1.2 is stamped into the launcher and DLL. Updates continue exclusively from Jish2637/ReSkateMerge. Existing first-person, USB PS5/Steam HID, Sketchy Landings, terminology and S.K.A.T.E. teardown fixes remain included. The game-build pins and recommended first-person preset are unchanged.
Final source: edcce441407880a7a9e2e857046e58c2dcc8c90f. Built for Windows x64 using Visual Studio 2026. Automated validation: 107 passed, zero failed, one installed-game-only check skipped (108 total). All feature-critical suites passed. Release ZIP tests: five passed, two platform-specific cases skipped. The client ZIP records source identity and binary hashes in BUILD_INFO.json; SHA256SUMS.txt covers the client ZIP, source ZIP, manifest and standalone binaries.
Live acceptance remains pending: mouse/keyboard/controller navigation in both INS styles, actual game-process restart, two-client judging/ownership, and the earlier first-person/Sketchy Landings gameplay checks. Automated tests do not establish native in-game behaviour. No game installation or saves were changed.
Assets: Windows client ZIP, source ZIP from the final commit, ReSkateLauncher.exe, ReSkate.dll, launcher.json and SHA256SUMS.txt. This is a normal release on the existing update channel.
