Everything since v2.2.0 (Oct 19): a 3D mini Joe, more motion, lighter photos, and a full accessibility pass in both themes.

New

  • Mini Joe. A small 3D version of me in the About section's Journey card. Click it to open a viewer you can drag to rotate, with a few poses. The 3D code only loads when you click, so the homepage stays as light as before. (#6)
  • Joe Builds Things. The contact section now links my Joe Builds Things Instagram (@joebuildthings) in place of X.

Motion and feel

  • Nav and text links slide in an underline on hover, buttons lift further, and the theme toggle, timeline rows and scroll-to-top button all respond to hover now. (#8)
  • Project filters animate in place instead of swapping whole grids, about five times faster. (#5)

Accessibility

  • Every text and chip colour now meets WCAG AA contrast in light and dark mode. Company colours on the experience pages are darkened just enough to read on paper. Automated contrast failures went from 132 to 0. (#9)
  • A skip to content link, and the timeline's company link is no longer nested inside its expand button.
  • The 3D viewer traps focus while open and returns it when closed.

Performance

  • Tennis and team photos resized and re-encoded, and the timeline lightbox opens the WebP version instead of the original. (#7)
  • An empty Google Tag Manager container removed. Google Analytics still loads on its own.

Case study

  • The Transfer Tool case study reads in a neutral voice, its images open full size, and it has its own share image.
