  • Polling rate: the DualShock 4 offers 2k, 4k and 8k again. The 1 kHz limit in 4.0.3 wasn't backed by real measurements.
  • Sony controllers on a USB cable now show the measured rate on the Performance page, for example Measured

  • Polling rate: DualShock 4 controllers no longer offer 2k, 4k or 8k. Their firmware tops out at 1,000 Hz, so faster settings only repeated the same input. DualSense and DualSense Edge still go to 8,000 Hz.
  • Controllers that can't be calibrated (Xbox, Nintendo, GameSir, SCUF and others) now say so on their page: they get the polling rate only.
  • The controller page lists what each model supports: DualSense and DualSense Edge get center, range, fine-tune and the Loose or Tight feel; DualShock 4 gets center and range. Calibration needs a USB cable.
  • Includes the 4.0.2 startup and list performance fixes.

HIDUSBF 4.0.2 focuses on startup and interface responsiveness.

  • The main window opens without waiting for Logitech receiver identification, new device pictures or the update check. Remembered names and pictures appear first; live details fill in afterward.
  • Repeated Rescan and F5 requests run one at a time instead of starting overlapping scans.
  • Controller discovery runs off the UI thread. Live input starts after the identity and calibration safety checks, while optional manufacturing details load in the background.
  • Preparing a custom device picture and clearing downloaded pictures run in the background.
  • The Profiles menu no longer forces a pending save before opening. Profile actions keep their existing save order, and changes made in Explorer are still detected.
  • All devices reuses row containers while scrolling.

Validation: 157 automated checks passed, including startup, controller-opening, profile/menu, list-layout, lighting and existing regression checks. Main and Experimental builds compile. End-to-end startup timing and live calibration were not re-tested.

Download the Setup.exe to install or update. The matching .sha256 file verifies the installer download. Existing driver and calibration safeguards remain in place.

Fixes "HIDUSBF couldn't start: Unexpected token 'M65,39,5 L75,39,5'" on Windows set to a region that writes decimals with a comma (Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and many others).

Also: if HIDUSBF ever fails to start, it now still offers an available update first.

If 4.0.0 shows that error on your PC, download this installer and run it. It updates 4.0.0 in place.

First public release of HIDUSBF as an installer.

  • Polling rates up to 8,000 Hz for USB mice, keyboards and controllers (hidusbf filter driver).
  • DualSense, DualSense Edge and DualShock 4 stick calibration, including Smart calibration (Loose / Tight).
  • Controller lights and SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 per-key lighting, profiles, device overview with product names and pictures.
  • Checks for updates while it starts and asks before installing.

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn: choose More info, then Run anyway. Check the download against the .sha256 file if you like.
