pdfcer v0.35.0 — redaction applied into the session (deferred to Save)
pdfcer v0.35.0 — Pass 250.1: apply a redaction into the session (deferred to Save)
Redaction no longer forces an immediate file write. EditSession::apply_redactions
removes the marked content into the session, so Save (or Save As) commits it
like any other edit — the operator's ask.
- It finalizes the document and cannot be undone (operator ruling): applying
a redaction collapses the session onto a clean, fully-rewritten redacted base
and clears the undo history. A shell must disclose that before committing. - No save mode can leak the removed text — because the collapse leaves a
single-revision clean base, an incremental save appends to already-redacted
bytes. A proof test asserts the removed text is absent from both save modes. has_applied_redaction()is a disclosure signal; the returned
RedactionReport(withredacted_text) is unchanged.
The undo-preserving deferred variant is on the roadmap for later.
