๐ New Features
Renamed & Expanded "Queries" Module
The MDX tab has been officially renamed to "Queries" to reflect its expanded capabilities beyond MDX:
- New Query Types: Users can now create and manage MDX, Expression, SQL, and CSV queries within a single interface.
- SQL Integration: Execute SQL queries directly against your pre-defined database connections.
- Dynamic UI: The interface now dynamically adapts its fields and options based on the selected query type.
- Model-Specific Filtering: Introduced a filter in the Queries section to ensure users only see queries relevant to the currently selected model, preventing clutter from shared global queries.
Data Connectivity: Local & SQL Sections
A new centralized data management interface has been introduced:
- Local Tab: A dedicated storage area on the Seeder server for data files (CSV, Excel, TXT). Includes a "Public" flag to control visibility between users.
- SQL Tab: Manage external database connections (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) by storing host, port, and authentication credentials in one place.
Hot Promote: Large Model Support & Real-time Monitoring
The deployment workflow (Hot Promote) has received a massive architectural upgrade:
- Large Model Support: Optimized the engine to handle large-scale models and massive changesets without timeouts or performance degradation.
- Real-Time Streaming: Leveraging WebSockets and the AsyncService to provide live updates during comparison and execution.
- Visual Progress Tracking: Introduced a new progress bar and a detailed tabular event log to monitor every step of the deployment.
- Session Persistence: Hot Promote now allows users to restore ongoing comparison sessions even if the browser is closed or refreshed accidentally.
- Paginated Changesets: Implemented a new changeset format with pagination support to improve performance when reviewing large numbers of changes.
๐ Improvements
Management & Security
- Public/Private Logic: Enhanced security rules prevent moving elements out of Public folders into Private ones. Private items are now restricted from being assigned Public tags, with popup notifications explaining the restriction.
- Folder UX: Improved the script tree navigation with better drag-and-drop targets, easier folder collapsing/expanding, and a "deselect-on-second-click" feature to simplify root-level actions.
Tag & Admin Enhancements
- Manual Hex Color Editing: Users can now manually type or paste Hex color codes for tags in the Admin section, moving beyond the limitation of only using sliders.
๐ Bug Fixes
- View Data Persistence: Fixed a critical issue where data copied (Ctrl+V) was lost upon refresh. Pasted values are now correctly committed to the cube.
- Shared Query Logic: Resolved an issue where the error popup appeared empty when a shared MDX query failed (400 Bad Request). Detailed error responses are now displayed.
- Attribute Display: Fixed a bug in the Views module where string attributes were incorrectly displayed as floats (0.00) for empty entries.
- Dimension Editor: Resolved an issue where the filter function failed to operate correctly when accessed via the Dimension Editor button.
- Admin Log Polling: Fixed a lifecycle issue where log polling continued to run even after navigating away from the Admin section.
๐ฆ Deployment & Availability
The Seeder ecosystem is now more accessible than ever with two primary distribution formats:
- Seeder EXE: A standalone Windows executable for direct desktop or server deployment without complex environment setup.
- Docker Version: A fully containerized version for modern infrastructure (Linux/Windows/Cloud), ensuring consistent behavior across all environments and simplifying the update process.
