vphone 2.12.0
Core Bundle and Launchpad
- Merge the full Minimal, research-board, Apple Watch, iOS 18 and iOS 26 contribution stack, preserving the original commits and authorship. Thanks to @mpass99. (#712, #713, #714, #716, #718, #720)
- Add the
minimalpreset, support cloudOS releases without vphone600 components, and support iOS 26.x and iOS 18.x guests with their matching research-board boot chains. - Add Apple Watch guests (Watch7,18 / watchOS 26.4) and pairing with a virtual iPhone.
- Let NAT guests reach one another, with per-machine isolation controls and corrected fixed-address reporting. Hosts without the required isolation API fail safely. (#717)
- Keep privileged firmware operations inside private workspaces, reject untrusted native patch-set code when running as root, and confine kernel cache access and guest filesystem writes.
- Fix SSH transfers that could hang while writing input and collecting error output.
- Start the 2.12 compatibility series: use Launchpad 2.12.x with Core Bundle 2.12.x. Launchpad includes helper build 20; updating the helper may request administrator authorization.
Installation
Download vphone-launchpad-2.12.0-notarized.zip, replace the app in Applications, then install Core Bundle 2.12.0 from Launchpad. Installing a new default bundle does not change existing machines, their Core Bundle bindings, or their guest components. Update individual machines separately when you choose to do so.
Launchpad is Developer ID signed, Apple notarized and stapled. The Core Bundle retains the project's ad hoc signatures and private-entitlement admission workflow; it is installed and verified through Launchpad.
Validation
- The merged main commit passed CI and 812 related CoreKit, ArchiveKit and firmware tests, plus Launchpad regression checks and all five native guest-component test groups.
- Release builds, bundle admission, code signatures and architecture checks are verified during packaging.
- Complete firmware reference and guest boot coverage is not available on the build machine because the reference images are absent. The new research-board and Apple Watch paths remain research features; this release does not claim a newly repeated full guest boot matrix.
