v0.22.1 - Saved sign-ins open again on Mac and Linux, and server 0.31.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 29 Oct 03:40

Saved sign-ins open again on Mac and Linux. On server 0.31.1.

  • Sign-ins saved before 0.22.0 open again (#101, fixes #100). The rename to Open Game Master changed the name the apps keep their keychain key under, so on macOS and on Linux with a keyring, sign-ins and a device world's owner password saved by an earlier version could not be opened. The apps use their old key name again, and anything 0.22.0 itself saved is opened once and saved again under it.
  • Server 0.31.1 inside the apps: characters with more than one class from the start, hopes for the story, companions you keep, portraits painted from who a character is, and a GM that follows a conversation. On a 0.31.0 host the apps keep their own screens and hide only what that host cannot do.

v0.22.0 - Open Game Master

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 02:43

The apps are Open Game Master. On server 0.31.0.

  • The new name (#94, #95). The installer, the Start menu, the Mac app, the Linux launcher, the Android launcher, the window and the shell's own screens say Open Game Master, and the storyteller is the Game Master (GM) in the apps' own text as on the server's screens. Your worlds, characters, saved servers and sign-ins stay where they are.
  • opengamemaster.com (#93). Room codes, invite links and the tunnel broker use the new domain, and the apps still understand the old one, so a host and a player on either side of the update reach each other. Android App Links answer on both domains.
  • New app id, file names and repository (#97). The desktop app id is com.opengamemaster.client, every release file is open-game-master-client-*, and the repository is Lebbitheplow/open-game-master-client. Every install moves across by itself:
    • Windows keeps its upgrade key, so the new build replaces the old install.
    • The .rpm and .deb packages replace open-dungeon-master-client, and the old program path starts the new build.
    • The tarball, the Mac zip and the AppImage update in place. On a Mac the app moves to Open Game Master.app, and macOS asks for microphone access once more.
    • The Flatpak under the old id offers the renamed app as its update when started from the desktop, moves your data to the new id and repoints a Steam shortcut. Started from Steam, it keeps updating as itself.
  • A day or night theme and a larger text size chosen in Settings stay chosen when the app starts again. Before, both went back to the defaults at every start.
  • The footer's GitHub link opens the main repository, where the issues, docs and contributors are (server #562).
  • Everything server 0.31.0 changes reaches the app's own screens: the Game Master everywhere, the companion conscience follow-ups (Who goes on Move the party, Spoke against it on a deed, whom a departed companion still cares for on the Gone list; #96, server #563), and the builder's plain cards and readable text at any size.
  • This build needs a server on 0.31.0 or newer for the app's own screens; an older server opens the way it always did.

v0.21.3 - Narration plays on in the apps, a closed microphone stays closed, the Workshop's test fights, and server 0.30.3

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 27 Oct 06:31

On server 0.30.3.

  • Narration plays on after the first passage (#88, server #539). In the apps a passage played once, then every passage after it stayed silent, its replay button included, until the table was entered again. play() now waits for the sound's address the app is still fetching, so each passage, a replay, music cue changes and repeated stings are all heard.
  • Everything server 0.30.3 changes reaches the app's own screens:
    • the Workshop's Test fight: a prepared fight on a table only you can see, with the stand-in party or characters you pick, run by the AI DM or by you
    • a Workshop species that lets its player choose (a Half-Dragon's ancestry, a lineage, a bloodline), and the builder's Character details panel with your picks before the numbers
    • the region map that stays readable as a made-up world grows
    • the Market trading only where the party stands, a table break that holds play, and secrets that stay with the DM
    • 54 new race portraits for subraces and castes
  • A closed microphone stays closed (#89): push-to-talk, a microphone picked while muted and a failed unmute keep the track closed; device-world mesh calls are transcribed; narration volume and read aloud changed in Settings reach the passage being read; a replaced "Hear a sample" gives back its memory.
  • Workshop audit (#90): a focused field's cleanup runs when it leaves the page.
  • This build needs a server on 0.30.3 or newer for the app's own screens (#91); an older server opens the way it always did.
  • The message box stays above the tab bar on a short phone. A test fight's banner over a hero's cards pushed it under the bar; the Hand now gives way and scrolls, a card's button comes into view once its target is picked, and a refusal such as a target out of reach comes into view, in plain words without the directions meant for the AI DM (server 0.30.3).
  • Checked on a real Android phone before release: an upgrade over 0.21.2 keeps your servers, pictures and the board load, the Workshop's test fight runs, and the world on the device starts.

v0.21.2 - The keyboard makes room on Android, the Hand grouped by what it spends, campaign prep mid-adventure, and server 0.30.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 26 Oct 03:55

On server 0.30.2.

  • Everything server 0.30.2 changes reaches the app's own screens:
    • the Hand folds a caster's cards into groups by what they spend (Spells by level, a pool's options, Items, Actions), with level tabs, filter chips and search
    • every cost wears its own colour and shape: Action ivory ●, Bonus action lime ▲, Reaction orchid ◆
    • Campaign prep in the table's header (a row in the phone's table menu) for whoever steers the story, laid over the still-running table so the voice call and your draft carry on, and Open prep in a running campaign's tile menu
    • Report a problem for the server's admin, with the whole setup filled in and a Check these first list; players are asked to tell whoever runs their server
    • faster turns on a local narrator, and roll cards that come before what the roll reveals
  • The keyboard no longer covers what you type on Android. Since 0.17.1 the keyboard drew over the page instead of making room. The name for a new world on the phone, the server address, the room code and the sign-in form sat under it. The page now lays out above the keyboard and returns to full height when it closes. The table's message box stays right above the keyboard, as before.
  • The home screen's wordmark no longer runs under its buttons on a phone, and the "Sound is waiting" banner asks for a tap instead of a click on a browser tab.
  • The desktop app names its local AI in Report a problem (#86). The report adds the app's local story AI (model, tier, state) and local image AI (ComfyUI, state, checkpoint), with the engine's last error and home folders shortened to ~. It never includes the address an engine answers on.
  • Issue templates (#86). Blank issues are off here. App bugs (installing, updating, the title screen and Settings, sharing your world, the local AI the app installs) go through one form. Game bugs and feature requests go to the main repository, and setup questions go to Discussions and Discord.
  • Play Store installs open /j invite links in the app (server #534).

v0.21.1 - Report a problem in the apps, board views on threads, and server 0.30.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 25 Oct 04:48

On server 0.30.1.

  • Everything server 0.30.1 changes reaches the app's own screens:
    • the builder that asks how you want to play first and the name last, the level-up sheet for a library character, and the level-by-level table
    • Draft pregens with the AI DM on the Workshop's Party tool
    • the reason chips after a fix to the AI DM, and Narrator quality in Admin > Usage
    • full rectangular paintings on action cards, and the Market's item card
    • dialogs that hand focus back to what opened them
  • Report a problem works in the apps (#85). From Help at the table or Admin > Server log, the report file saves through the app: a save dialog in Downloads on the desktop, the share sheet on Android (pick Files, Drive or anything else), and the GitHub form opens once the file is saved. The file says which app, version and system it came from, and never holds an address, a path or a key.
  • Board views may use threads (#84). The app's own pages are cross-origin isolated, so a board view addon granted threads can use workers and shared memory, as on the website.
  • The host gate rises to 0.30.1 (#85). Report a problem, Draft pregens and the reason chips call routes an older host does not have.

v0.21.0 - NPCs who make the first move, offer notifications, forms that open focused, and server 0.30.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Oct 13:26

On server 0.30.0.

  • Everything server 0.30.0 changes reaches the app's own screens:
    • NPCs who make the first move, "Drawn to" on heroes and NPCs, scheming NPCs, and the companion conscience with pacts and sides in a fight
    • one ruleset, SRD 5.1, and SRD 5.1 prices for magic in the Market
    • offered pregens in the hero chooser, and owed choices picked on the confirm sheet
    • haggling that belongs to whoever was at the counter, with Intimidation and Deception beside Haggle
    • Put it back and the spell desk in the character builder
    • a reimport's kept value on the World entry, and homebrew monsters by their own type and name
  • Notifications for offers only you can answer (#82). An NPC's advance or a pact's approach addressed to you posts an OS notification while that table is open and the card is out of view; tapping it opens the table at the card. On the desktop through the system's notifications, on Android on its own "Offers for you" channel with lock-screen content hidden.
  • Forms open focused (#83). A field the game screens open for typing (the command palette's search, a prompt's answer, a new timeline event, a map's name, 26 in all) now takes the cursor as it does on the website, so the keyboard reaches it at once.
  • The host gate rises to 0.30.0 (#82). The screens save the advance and pact switches, "Drawn to", offered pregens, owed picks, a haggle's skill and a kept import's choice through routes and fields an older host does not have.
  • Security. Electron 44.9.3 (GHSA-jr5w-w6x2-84p9, compromised eMudhra intermediate certificates), undici (GHSA-xjj6-f33q-929c) and zod 4.6.7 (GHSA-mrhx-c7xc-m3w5).

v0.20.1 - Two taps and an undo on the board, the builder's summary and build math, and server 0.29.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Oct 04:33

On server 0.29.1.

  • Everything server 0.29.1 changes reaches the app's own screens:
    • a move on the board takes two taps, and Undo move takes a walk back
    • a player can take an AI companion's turns in fights ("In fights" on the companion's Party card)
    • the builder opens an edit on a summary, shows the build math beside the picks, and the hero chooser offers Help me build
    • prices read in gold in the Market
    • one tool per intent in the DM console, stat blocks read whole and the SRD creature table
    • the Workshop's references follow renames, and imports say what failed
  • The host gate rises to 0.29.1 (#78, #80). The screens send the merged DM tools, save new workshop fields, ask the confirm sheet to judge a hero not stored yet, call the board's undo route and save who commands a companion; an older host refuses, lacks or drops each.
  • A refresh of the game screens mounts the page afresh (#79), so it loads its data again instead of keeping the old page.

Full Changelog: v0.20.0...v0.20.1

v0.20.0 - Workshop classes in the app, names read whole, and server 0.29.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 22 Oct 10:41

On server 0.29.0.

  • Workshop classes in the app (server #477): Workshop > Homebrew > Classes makes a class of the table's own, and the builder offers it under From Homebrew. The app's own screens run the class editor, checked on desktop and phone widths.
  • The host gate rises to 0.29.0. The class editor saves a kind an older host refuses. A Market line renamed after it was picked from the catalog keeps the item it is, which an older host drops.
  • Everything else the server's 0.29.0 changes reaches the app's screens:
    • names read whole at every table
    • WorldForge in large worlds: search over text and fields, a keyboard list that stays quick at 4,000 entries
    • the Market's "Listed as" tag
    • the rewritten tours, help and empty states, with the new Factions tour
    • the pixel tiles that showed a broken image since 0.27.2
  • README: the knowledge base first, gpt-oss-20b for a 16 GB gaming card, and the agents that paint (#75).

0.19.4

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Oct 08:49

Bundles server v0.28.4.

v0.19.3 - Host gate 0.28.3, a native hero page, and no white flicker on a reload

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 20 Oct 11:56

On server 0.28.3.

  • The native screens need a host with hands and gear and the table's fight pace (#70): the host gate rises to 0.28.3. A 0.28.2 host would strip the fight pace the new screens save and has no tool for the gear cards.
  • The hero page has a native screen. Server 0.28.3 lands a new character's first save on /characters/<id>/ready; without a route the apps handed it to the old web view.
  • No white flicker on a reload. Both shell pages say they are dark before any stylesheet arrives, every window shows once its first frame is ready, and the web-view surfaces carry the shell's background between pages. A reload of the table (the View menu, F5, the table screen opening on a second display) painted Chromium's white page for a frame or two on Windows.
