Filter lists by link

  • Direct, Via VPN and Block accept links to domain lists: AdBlock and AdGuard DNS filters, hosts files and plain lists of domains. Paste the link into the list like any other entry.
  • A list downloads right after you save it and refreshes once a day, through the VPN when it is on. It applies from the next connection, and connecting never waits for a download.
  • Under the list, each link shows how many domains it holds and when it updated, or why it did not download. Links must be https.
  • Only whole-domain rules are used. Rules for page elements, paths or particular sites are skipped; @@ exceptions and $badfilter take a domain out.
  • On mihomo a big list costs far less memory than on xray: about 30 MB against 80 MB for the 180,000 domains of AdGuard DNS. On Android, a list over 150,000 domains shows a memory warning when the server runs on xray.

Exit country

  • After connecting, the status chip shows the flag of the country websites see you from, in the icon shape you chose.
  • Tapping the flag shows the exit IP in the chip; tapping the IP copies it.

Android TV

  • The app appears on Android TV with its own banner.
  • The remote's focus is always visible: the focused row, button or chip is filled with the inverse color and grows slightly.
  • A TV can get a subscription from a phone. On the TV, open Add subscription and press the phone button next to the address. Scan the code with the QR button in keqdroid on the phone, pick a subscription, and it arrives over home Wi-Fi. The phone needs keqdroid 0.26.0.
  • The remote no longer jumps into a neighbouring tab hidden off screen.
  • Option sheets scroll instead of being cut off at the bottom on a TV or a phone held sideways.

Split tunneling on Windows and Linux

  • Works as on Android: selected apps follow the routing lists and Everything else, other apps bypass the VPN. On both cores.
  • Apps ticked in the list match by name, so they keep working after an update moves them to a new folder. A path typed by hand matches only that file.
  • Per-app split now works on Linux.

Auto

  • Prefers steady servers over ones whose ping jumps or that failed recently, and no longer picks the slowest server after a speed test.
  • Returns to the server it left once that server answers again, checking every 5 minutes while traffic flows.

Linux

  • Settings page for Linux: start at login, connect on autostart, and a close button that can quit.
  • Quitting from the tray no longer crashes, closing without a tray minimizes the window, Ctrl+Q quits, and tiling desktops get no extra title bar.
  • Windows show the keqdroid icon. The AppImage adds itself to the app menu, and the Arch package installs the icon.
  • The system proxy is set in GNOME and KDE settings, and your own proxy is restored after disconnecting.
  • Without working OpenGL the app draws in software instead of showing a black window.
  • Updates that cannot install in place, including an AppImage moved while running, are saved to Downloads with the reason.
  • Passwordless TUN runs only the core it trusted when the rule was installed. After a core update it asks for the password once to trust the new one.
  • Two people logged in at the same time can both run keqdroid.
  • Core logs are readable only by you, and the core API needs a password that changes every session.
  • The subscription QR code is saved as a picture instead of failing to share.
  • LAN sharing shows the command that opens its ports when firewalld or ufw is on.

Other

  • A custom routing rule that is switched off no longer keeps working. Windows autostart without admin rights and the first connection in Android proxy mode used to copy enabled custom rules into the Direct, Via VPN and Block lists. If a list now holds values from your custom rules, delete them from the list.
  • mihomo: direct connections also ask your DNS servers over plain DNS, so a blocked DoH no longer leaves direct sites hanging.
  • The servers tab stops redrawing the wave while disconnected. With software rendering it took up to half a CPU core.
