Release list
Little Limits 0.3.0
The app is now called Little Limits, with new Paper and Night icons. Reset times on Home also fit on a 12-hour clock.
Fixed
- Home: Reset times in the account table fit at the smallest window width on a 12-hour clock, such as "Today 6:22 PM". A reset that already happened says "Reset passed".
Changed
- Name: Limits Left is now Little Limits. Your accounts, sign-ins, settings, and usage history stay. If you installed by hand, quit Limits Left and move it to the Trash after you install Little Limits.
- App icon: New Paper and Night icons. Paper replaces Enamel. Settings has an App icon choice of Paper or Night, and if you chose Enamel before, you now have Paper.
SHA-256 of Little-Limits-0.3.0.zip: 83cfda74a001392ac2ee65e53153413894eedf3193c0dce9cdede378e723b74e. Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
Limits Left 0.2.1
AI Usage Stats is now Limits Left. Same app, new name and a new look. Your saved accounts, sign-ins, and usage history carry over.
- New name and icon: the app is called Limits Left, with a new Enamel icon. Prefer a darker look? Pick Night under Settings, App icon. Night shows in About Limits Left and while the app is running; Finder and Launchpad keep Enamel, because macOS has no supported way for an app to change its own Finder icon.
- A truer menu bar number: the number now counts only each account's 5-hour and weekly limits. A single model's weekly limit (for example Fable 5) still shows in the menu, but no longer pulls the menu bar number down.
- Home is easier to scan: Weekly Totals and the account table come first, then the forecast, then the reset calendar. The calendar's toolbar buttons scroll it into view. Forecast labels read Usage rate, Weekly total reaches 0%, and Updated. You can now Tab from the sidebar into Home.
- Readable model names: the Models page shows names like Fable 5.1 and GPT-6.1 Sol instead of raw ids, and marks models with fewer than 5,000 requests in words.
- Clearer wording: older readings say Last known, for example Last known 2 available. Stale account pages tell you to choose Refresh Account. The app menu gains About, Hide, Hide Others, and Show All, and the Window menu gains Zoom.
Monitoring is still read-only. The app never buys credits, changes plans, or sends model requests to check usage.
Upgrade with Homebrew. The cask has a new name, limits-left, and Homebrew moves existing installs over:
brew update && brew upgrade --caskNew install:
brew install --cask parkerrex/tap/limits-leftOr download Limits-Left-0.2.1.zip below, unzip it, and move Limits Left to Applications. If you still have AI Usage Stats in Applications from a manual install, quit it and move it to the Trash; your accounts and history stay. Requires macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. Signed with Developer ID (RAPTURE ENTERTAINERS, INC.) and notarized by Apple.
AI Usage Stats 0.2.0
AI Usage Stats 0.2.0 adds a private usage history that stays on your Mac.
- Weekly totals across accounts: Home and the menu show how much weekly quota is left across all your Claude accounts, and separately across your Codex accounts. You also see the next reset and what it gives back, whether an account is ahead of pace, and when an account at its limit is usable again. Sort accounts by most remaining or soonest usable, and refresh one account from its page (Shift-Command-R).
- Forecast on Home: how fast your pooled weekly quota is draining, when it reaches zero, and a chart of recent history with a projection over the next 1 or 7 days.
- Models page: how each model behaves in your own Claude Code and Codex sessions: output speed, steps per turn, thinking share, parallel tool calls, grep versus rg, commands piped into head or tail, git status runs per commit, command length, and inline Python and JavaScript.
- Private by design: the app reads Claude Code and Codex logs on this Mac, including older compressed Codex logs, and keeps only counts, lengths, and categories in a local database. It never stores prompts, replies, command text, file contents, or folder names, and nothing leaves your Mac.
On first launch the app reads your existing logs in the background. This takes from about half a minute to a couple of minutes, and the app stays usable meanwhile.
Monitoring is still read-only. The app never buys credits, changes plans, or sends model requests to check usage.

AI Usage Stats 0.1.0
First public release of AI Usage Stats, a native macOS menu bar app that shows how much of your Claude and Codex subscription limits are left on each account, and when they reset.
- Menu bar: the remaining quota for Claude and Codex. Use Show in Menu Bar to give the accounts you actually use their own numbers.
- Status menu: every account's 5-hour, weekly, and model limits, with reset times. Reconnect… appears when an account needs sign-in.
- Home window: an account table and a reset calendar, plus drag-to-reorder accounts in the sidebar.
- Accounts: Claude (browser sign-in) and Codex (Terminal sign-in, or reuse the Codex CLI login on this Mac).
- API credits (experimental): Claude API credits through a separate Claude Platform sign-in.
Monitoring is read-only. The app never buys credits, changes plans, or sends model requests to check usage.
