Minecraft Host 1.2.6 – Dialogs close properly

Choose a tag to compare

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 28 Oct 10:54

Dialogs close properly, clearer small text.

  • Escape closes every dialog (a click outside already did), and the start animation can be ended with a click or Escape; it also ends after 5 seconds instead of 12.
  • Better contrast for small text and an even top row; the page no longer scrolls behind an open dialog.
  • The website shows a sharp preview video and screenshots, and its music only plays after pressing the music button.

See SHA256SUMS.txt for the checksums.

Minecraft Host 1.2.5

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 28 Oct 09:33

Minecraft Host 1.2.5

  • Create a private Minecraft TCP tunnel from the server screen using the locally installed Tailscale client. The app shows a copyable address, avoids occupied Tailscale Serve ports, updates its own forward when the server port changes, and leaves other Serve rules alone.
  • Closing the last dashboard tab now shuts down the app and gracefully stops managed Minecraft servers. Reloads and additional open tabs keep it running.
  • Updated Windows app icon.

Friends need Tailscale installed and access to the hosting PC. A shared world still transfers separately through Syncthing. The private tunnel requires the hosting PC and Minecraft server to be running. The direct TCP tunnel is incompatible with Minekube Gate on the same profile.

Verified with 39 automated tests, a two-instance Syncthing world round trip on one PC, and standalone EXE smoke tests. A live Minecraft join between two physical PCs remains to be checked once both Tailscale clients are signed in.

MC Host for Android 1.2.2

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 10:06

MC Host for Android – two modes in one app:

  • Control your PC: start and stop servers on Minecraft Host, live console, commands, settings, new servers, Modrinth imports and the tunnel. Needs Minecraft Host 1.2.0+: click 📱 Handy, turn on remote control and pair with the shown address and code. Away from home, install Tailscale on PC and phone and use the 100.x address.
  • Host on this phone: create a Vanilla or Fabric server (Minecraft 1.18+), start it with the built-in Java 25 and play with friends on the same Wi-Fi, via Tailscale or a playit address. A notification keeps the server running with the screen off – best on the charger. ARM64 phones, 2 GB server RAM recommended.

Install the APK (allow installs from your browser once). Android may note that the app was built for an older Android version: phone hosting needs that to start the bundled Java runtime.

Java runtime: OpenJDK 25 (GPL-2.0 with Classpath Exception) built for Android by AngelAuraMC; source at openjdk.org.

Minecraft Host 1.2.4

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 27 Oct 22:55

Minecraft Host 1.2.4 — app icon, working updates

  • New app icon: a grass block on a server slab with a signal arc, in teal glass – in the EXE (Explorer, desktop, taskbar, window) and as the browser-tab icon. It matches the new Modspire and Mod Studio icons.
  • Update button fixed: the 1.2.3 package wrapped its files in a MinecraftHost folder, which the self-updater did not accept ("contains no MinecraftHost.exe"). The updater now handles both layouts, and this release ships the flat layout again.
  • Single-file MinecraftHost-Standalone.exe and the portable folder build are both included. The single file cannot update itself – replace it with a newer one.

Installed 1.1.x–1.2.2 (folder build)? Click Update in the top bar. Otherwise unzip and run MinecraftHost.exe, or run the standalone EXE. Bundled tools (playit-agent, Gate, Syncthing) under their own licences; checksums in SHA256SUMS.txt.

Minecraft Host 1.2.3

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 27 Oct 20:18

Minecraft Host 1.2.3

  • Downloads a matching Eclipse Temurin Java runtime (8, 17, 21 or 25) when it is missing, verifies the download, and keeps it in your local app data without administrator rights.
  • Improves Minekube Gate setup with the matching FabricProxy-Lite and Fabric API, connection status and retry controls.
  • Clarifies friend pairing and shows whether the shared world transfer has fully completed.
  • Improves server-start progress and retry feedback.

Downloads

  • MinecraftHost-Portable-Windows.zip — portable folder with the in-app updater and helper tools.
  • MinecraftHost-Standalone.exe — single-file Windows app; replace it manually to update.
  • SHA256SUMS.txt — SHA-256 checksums for both downloads.

Java downloads need an internet connection the first time that runtime is required. Review and accept the Minecraft EULA in the app before starting a server. Minekube Gate can be incompatible with some modpacks; test a full join with your pack before sharing its address.

Minecraft Host 1.2.0

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 27 Oct 17:12

Minecraft Host 1.2.0 — Android remote & Tailscale

  • Control your servers from your phone: click 📱 Handy in the top bar, turn on remote control and pair the new MC Host Android app (see the android-v1.0.0 release) with the shown address and pairing code. Start/stop, live console, commands, settings, new servers, Modrinth imports and the tunnel all work from the app.
  • Secure by default: the remote listener is off until you enable it, every request needs the 120-bit pairing code, repeated wrong codes block the client, and PC-only actions (update, file dialogs, firewall, Syncthing) stay local. "Neuen Code erzeugen" disconnects all phones.
  • Tailscale for playing and for the app: the server view shows your Tailscale 100.x address so friends you share the PC with can join – encrypted, no port forwarding. The same address lets the app reach your PC from anywhere.

Installed 1.1.x? Click Update in the top bar. Otherwise unzip and run MinecraftHost.exe. Bundled tools (playit-agent, Gate, Syncthing) under their own licences; checksums in SHA256SUMS.txt.

Minecraft Host 1.1.1

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 27 Oct 16:45

Minecraft Host 1.1.1 — readable console

  • Console highlighting: errors, warnings, player chat, joins and the startup "Done" line each get their own colour; timestamps are dimmed.
  • The console no longer jumps to the bottom while you scroll up to read older lines.

Installed 1.1.0? Click Update in the top bar – the app installs this release itself. Otherwise unzip and run MinecraftHost.exe. Bundled tools (playit-agent, Gate, Syncthing) under their own licences; checksums in SHA256SUMS.txt.

Minecraft Host 1.1.0 — self-update

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 27 Oct 12:42

Minecraft Host 1.1.0 — self-update

  • Updates itself: the top bar shows when a new release is out. One click downloads it from GitHub, verifies it against SHA256SUMS.txt, swaps the files and restarts – your servers and worlds stay untouched. A running server, import or world transfer blocks the update. Click the version number to check manually.
  • Folder build: the app now ships as MinecraftHost.exe + _internal instead of a self-extracting single file – faster start and fewer antivirus false positives. Keep both together.
  • Syncthing is shut down cleanly when the app closes.

Coming from 1.0.x: download this ZIP once by hand and replace the old files; later updates install themselves.

Unzip and run MinecraftHost.exe. Bundled tools (playit-agent, Gate, Syncthing) under their own licences; checksums in SHA256SUMS.txt.
