SwiftFind 1.0.5

@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Oct 19:07

[1.0.5] - 2026-10-18

  • Fix: newer VS Code ships ripgrep as @vscode/ripgrep-universal; SwiftFind now finds it instead of falling back to slow Node scanning (about 12x faster text search on a 10k-file repo).
  • Fix: stop using rg --files-from (not in upstream ripgrep); rg walks the workspace with the same ignore rules and excludes as the file index.
  • Search now runs only on Enter / Search button; removed the swiftFind.searchOnType setting (every keystroke re-scanned the whole workspace).
  • Cleanup: QuickPick now uses the same search engine as the fullscreen panel (about 200 lines of duplicate code removed); one shared HTML escape (the search field value is now quote-escaped); removed unused icon files.
  • Replace reads plain UTF-8 files from disk instead of opening a document per file; other encodings still go through VS Code.
  • Plain-text replace inserts the replacement literally ($&, $1 no longer expand); added unit tests.
  • Fullscreen webview now has a Content-Security-Policy; replace-all is limited to 500 files.

SwiftFind 1.0.4

@github-actions github-actions released this 20 Aug 20:16

[1.0.4] - 2026-08-20

  • Fullscreen search matches the VS Code Settings editor: rounded field on top, filter icons inside, text tabs below.
  • Custom webviews respect workbench.experimental.modernUI: classic chrome when off, Settings-style search/tabs when on.
  • Removed dead findstr leftovers and unused exports; simplified QuickPick option maps and search helpers.

SwiftFind 1.0.3

@M455YN M455YN released this 20 Aug 18:37

[1.0.3] - 2026-07-20

  • Path index cache in .vscode/swiftfind-path-index.cache always honors .gitignore (plus hard excludes like bin / obj).
  • Text search and replace now scan only files from that cache (rg --files-from), so results stay consistent with the Files tab.
  • Added command SwiftFind: Rebuild File Index Cache (swiftFind.rebuildIndex) — deletes the cache file and rebuilds it.
  • Updated Welcome page for the new index/cache workflow.
