This code repository supports a rebuilding project of the Digital Preservation Workshop website. Specifically, this project attempts to build a fresh copy of the site using Drupal 8.
For now, this is a work in progress.
This repository can be deployed on Pantheon via the Circle CI service, following the instructions in Pantheon's Build Tools tutorial. It leverages the Terminus (and Terminus Secrets Plugin) and Composer CLI tools, as well as unit tests from Behat and code linting on Circle CI.
The badges at the top of this page will take you to the relevant resources and the running website.
This site includes the SMTP module, whose integration requires a username and password for sending email. Some of these settings should be managed using the Terminus Secrets Plugin. The list of values that need to be defined are:
smtp_from
smtp_fromname
smtp_host
smtp_password
smtp_port
smtp_protocol
smtp_username
Failure to define any of these values will result in the site not being able to send emails.
In order to get this site running locally, the following steps are generally necessary:
- Start by cloning this repository into an Apache webroot directory. There should also be a database connection to MySQL available.
- Load the site in a browser, and select "Configuration install" when asked to select a profile.
- Provide the relevant database connection details when asked (this may change to env variables)
- For now, due to a bug in Drupal, the install will appear to fail due to a Standard module. This is a mistake. Re-load the site homepage and you should see a shell of the site.
- Generate a one-time login link via
drush uli
for User 1. Log in, clear caches, and import the configuration. - Download the database and file contents from Pantheon, and import/unzip them to the database and sites/default/files per usual.
