OpenPlugin 0.8.3 — Clif Tape thumbnail fix

Fixes the missing Clif Tape catalog thumbnail by registering its bundled artwork alongside PulyTek and Magic Tape Echo. The thumbnail appearance is confirmed on a Force. Artwork keeps its proportions inside the catalog frame.

Both firmware images pass container, filesystem, injected-file and stock ARM image verification. Manager install, repeated install and uninstall checks pass. Full 0.8.3 firmware flash/boot remains untested; MPC Gen1 is hardware untested.

Known limitation: online download/cache works, but rendering newly downloaded, unbundled artwork remains unresolved. This release fixes Clif Tape through its bundled image. Plugin effect/instrument binaries are installed separately through the catalog.

OpenPlugin 0.8.2 — Force / MPC Gen1 3.10.0

Ready-built update images for Force 3.10.0 and MPC Gen1 3.10.0. Normal 0.8.2 release naming, without an RC suffix.

Includes the updated Plugin Manager, the current online catalog, and bundled thumbnails for Clif Tape, TinyFreaky, PulyTek and Magic Tape Echo. Missing artwork loads over HTTPS and is cached for offline use. The plugin binaries are not embedded; install their ready-built packages from the manager.

Both images pass container checks, filesystem checks, every injected-file checksum and the stock ARM image verifier. Online thumbnail fetch/decode, offline cache, failed-download recovery and bounded display-update tests pass. These complete images have not yet been flashed and boot-tested; MPC Gen1 and audio-load testing remain hardware unverified.

Download the IMG for your device family and compare its SHA256 with SHA256SUMS. The matching validation reports and exact build-source archive are attached. Use OpenPlugin-0.8.2-source.zip for reproduction; GitHub’s automatic source archive does not contain the complete prepared payload.

OpenPlugin v0.8.2-rc4 — Force / MPC Gen1 3.10.0

Updated 3.10.0 firmware images with the refreshed catalog, including Clif Loss, and online thumbnail fallback in Plugin Manager. Bundled artwork remains unchanged; unbundled entries download a compact thumbnail and cache it for offline use. RC3 larger paging controls are retained.

These are test candidates. Offline thumbnail/cache and wrapper callback tests pass. Full RC4 hardware flash, visual thumbnail acceptance and audio-load measurements remain pending; MPC Gen1 is hardware untested.

OpenPlugin 0.8.2 RC3 — Force / MPC Gen1 3.10.0

Firmware 3.10.0 with standard bitmap thumbnails, the approved three-head Magic Tape Echo artwork, 64 × 64 paging touch targets and catalog/install text increased by one point. Bundled catalog: Magic Tape Echo 0.1.1, PulyTek 1.0.2 and TinyFreaky 0.4.1. Includes SSH/SFTP (root / mpc) and mouse/cursor support.

Both images passed the stock Akai image verifier, filesystem and injected-file checks. The updated manager skin is installed on the owner’s Force and the application restart passed. These complete RC3 images have not been flashed; MPC Gen1 and mouse behavior remain hardware untested.

Download the IMG for your device family and matching SHA256 file. Keep the filename ending in -update.img. See docs/DOWNLOADS.md for instructions. The last firmware 3.9.1 images remain available under v0.8.1-rc2.

OpenPlugin 0.8.1 RC2 — online catalog artwork, Force and MPC images

Rebuilt Force and MPC Gen1 images with online artwork refreshed on every catalog refresh, including unchanged image URLs. Last-good cached artwork and bundled fallbacks remain available when a download fails. Native RGB444 thumbnail cells update without relying on the host PNG cache.

The live catalog includes TinyFreaky 0.3.9: https://github.com/MagicStino/TinyFreaky/releases/tag/v0.3.9 . Install or update TinyFreaky from the catalog after refreshing; the instrument is a separate package.

Both device images passed their original stock ARM image verifier, filesystem and injected-file checks. The rebuilt manager loads under both stock ARM runtimes in emulation. 22 tests ran: 21 passed, one skipped. Screen rendering and wiring checks passed. Physical flash, boot, touchscreen redraw and audio-load performance remain untested.

Download the image for your device. The download filenames include OpenPlugin v0.8.1-rc2. If the updater does not detect a versioned filename, rename it to Force-3.9.1-update.img or MPC-3.9.1-Gen1-update.img for its device. The short-name checksum files apply to that USB filename; versioned checksum files match the downloads. Stock application version remains 3.9.1.2; the updater may offer a same-version update. Matching SHA256 and JSON validation reports are included.
