Release build not working

Hey folks,

Glad I found this page! So I've been trying to build PythonQt in release mode, to no avail. Debug mode builds A-okay for me. My error and background info is described here:

Additionally, I am building PythonQt as a static library, using MSVC 2017.

Is there any documentation on what the build process for PythonQt is actually doing? It's hard to debug why I'm getting a debug/release mismatch when I don't really know what the generator is doing. I'm not a stranger to make (either with GNU make or visual studio), but it's a bit tough to follow.

I'm not sure how much PythonQt has changed in the past year, but my version is from August of 2019.

I would like to add that this actually happens whether I am building as a DLL or as a static library. Very strange, I've started digging through the .pro files, and haven't caught anything suspicious yet. Could be an issue in one of the sub-makes?

Edit: To elaborate, this is a Windows 10 build. I just pulled the latest version of master, and can verify that I am getting the same error.

Edit 2: So, I went down the rabbit hole of using the included generator to create my own generated_cpp folder, and that hasn't done anything for this issue. Once again, very bizarre. I have no idea how PythonQt could be getting built using MDd_Dynamicdebug in release mode when MSVC says that it isn't.

Edit 3: All I can figure is that there is some problem with how moc is being used to build com_trolltech_qt_core_builtin0.h and com_trolltech_qt_gui_builtin0.h. However, I am no expert on moc, and don't have any idea how it would decide to use MDd_Dynamicdebug over the release runtime library.

Edit 4: Is there a better place to ask about this? Seems like nothing online relating to PythonQt is active. I need a release build of my software by the end of the month, and PythonQt is a pretty integral part of it. I'm a bit stressed out over it.
